[3.7] Rake's Tectonic Slam Equipment Guide - from League Start to Endgame

At what tier of gear should we feel comfortable killing Uber Elder?

I don't know. I always kill him only once in a league. But i guess something between T3 and T2. Will depend a lot on the person who does it.

What if we subbed in a Warlord's ring for the lack of leech? Tec still counts as an Attack so it should still give us some decent leech

Leech is already in the new Tree. And i don't really like Warlords Mark either. We would lose a good damage ring - not worth it.

What would you think about Berserker (insane attack speed) or CHieftain (more fire DMG and pen).....could this work "better" with Tectonic Slam after the buffs in 3.7 or Jugg still the best option as MArauder?

What would be the advantages/disadvantages between those 3 in your oppinion?

Amazing guide btw....keep up that great work. :)

I've updated the Guide for Chieftain. He should be a lot better for Tectonic Slam this League.

Berserker would do more damage. But it would be a lot weaker defensive wise and will probably getting quite some Mana sustain Problems because of his high attack speed.

It used to be 140% for 2handers so it's a 20% more buff

Thx. So at least damage wise DW should still be a lot better

Just thinking, why not get rid of heartseeker and go for Dismembering instead?

Btw great guide. Switching some stuff up - but it looks pretty solid.
The node Smashing Strikes in the tree, the staff node. Have you missed read staffs for swords or did u take it just for the 10% chance to get endurance charge on melee crit?

Sure, you can do that if you have the points (3 for Hearthseeker, 4 for Dismembering). They have nearlly the same value damage/point wise.

Like deadmeat9 already said, it's only for the endurance charges. We probably won't use Molten Shell with only 8k Armour. We probably should use Immortal Call. Thus we somehow should make sure to have maximum Endurance Charges most of the time.

But if you plan for eg to use Consecrated Path for Endurance Charge generation in between and focus on keeping them up, then you can save the 3 points and just invest them in something else.

Hi, can i use oni-goroshi on this build?
Just want to say thank you for the time you have put towards this and will hopefully continue to! I will be using this for 3.7 and I am very excited. With the changes to both Smite and Tec Slam, do you plan on using Smite to level like you have recommended before, or do you think Tec Slam will be better with the changes?

Also, I am kind of confused about using Ahn's Might as I dont see where or how we get frenzy charges anyways, so why do we need to use a Pacifism Jewel?

These new gems... this is going to be even stronger now. Holy s**t
Pulverise and Precision look like they will be nice boosts here, Pulverise's massive upside with the only downside being 15% Attack Speeds looks too good to pass up and Precision is basically free at 186 mana.

I am looking forward to trying tectonic slam in SSF this league, even though I think I will have to farm oni garoshi (not looking forward to that).

I have been trying to make a build without pathing to ranger side, and using some of the new nodes. It seems a shame to waste all those points :) I have been testing it with your t5 items, basic diamond flask and crappy jewels, and with oni garoshi. It is much tankier with about 5% more max life, 40% more leech 20% more regen, while only losing about 10-15% shaper dps. The main problems are pathing to the mana leech costs 4 extra points that feel kinda bad, although 3 are dex, and I took Vitality Void also to make it feel better. Also Im losing about 80 dex, which seems pretty bad also, I would need to get a chunk of it on gear. All in all I think your build seems slightly better overall.

It has been a long time since I have played melee, so I had a few questions if you don't mind.

1- On smashing strikes, would it not be better to take lava lash, and use flammability to curse and maintain endurance charges when needed? or perhaps consecrated path to put down some consecrated ground. I am guessing skills in CWDT don't proc Tawhoa, Forest's Strength. If they do then wave of conviction should proc it reliably and flammability in a CWDT setup might be good.
Lava Lash seems to be a huge dps increase for 3 points.

2- any other solutions to mana leech than the node above Vitality Void, poachers or warlords mark seem clunky until shaper ring, and in SSF even that can take a while.

3- is it worth farming oni garoshi? the dps increase seems really big over more generic rare weapons, and I am not the best at crafting, and I may not have the currency for a while, although it would be a good opportunity to learn to craft weapons :)

4- any reason why you are using a high level immortal call in the CWDT? is it to just keep your endurance charges from being used too often? with 5 charges consumed the difference between a lvl 1 and lvl 20 is only 2.5% more mitigation. level 1 is 81.25% phys mitigation and level 20 is 83.75%. Or perhaps it is to have a high level wave of conviction?
