Developer Questions and Answers

regarding Private Leagues Will u ever allow us to create a Specific old League? such as creating a Dleve,Breach etc Private league?

Thoughts on making like a poll ingame so people could vote a feature/change that they like?
Runescape did something like this back I was playing it long time ago.

I think it will give you guys more info about what the players want or what the players think about something/ what the players prioritize more etc. I think this will be helpful for you guys because sometimes there's a lot of negativity on reddit and some positive response from other players are downvoted if there's a hate train going on.

Will POE have a engine overhaul/rework in future?

So that the gameplay feels more fluent like in Diablo 3 f.e., with a improved graphic engine, support of higher resolutions (smaller HUD f.e. with higher resolutions), etc...

could u atleast try to research before asking a question that was answerd like the last 2-3 podcasts with chris/john on it ...they are not gonna go with a new engine but try to improve the one they have and build upon it

One thing I cannot wrap my head around is why you always try to innovate at all costs in a general manner instead of just improving on what was already successful with minor innovations and changes in styling? Doing so might yield you better player numbers (and therefore more profit from MTX) and for us players more importantly - extra time for (actually) polishing, testing and refining. As a question within a question - If you just don't wanna pursue such a mindset, why don't you just take an extra month every league and make the next one better, different and polished? (players are always waiting anyway, an extra month wouldn't render you bankrupt surely)

This may sound cruel, but it's not a rant or insult, I care about PoE (and I won't fight upon any real answer given), now, in practice you usually cannot handle the load you take upon yourself as a company/team and make decisions which seem as utterly illogical retrospectively - probably caused by the lack of testing or oversight (or care). (for example: syndicate damage; the way the rng-driven nexus map works; the red beast generation)

So, if I simplify all of that: Why didn't we get multiple new bigger, improved, partially redesigned and re-skinned branches/versions or the Legacy league, which was very successful? (Or whichever league you had the best overall numbers for)
Why did we get entirely new concepts with seemingly no inspiration and such (as everyone found out in a week after launch) half-baked execution? (such as Bestiary, Betrayal and Synthesis - all of which in essence great ideas the execution of which wasn't yet ripened at release)

I'll happily settle for any real and practical answer. My problem is that I don't know why you act like this and that irritates me to the gates of heaven, I'd feel much better if I knew and could make a picture of how things work as a whole behind the scenes. Just please be honest, I cannot be the only one wondering.

Any chance to drift away from the clear speed meta? Give monsters more life, reduced overall player damage, but increase drop rates.

exact same question, without the increased drop rates part!
(so you are right guys, it's not the exact same question !)

Any plans on slowing down the game ?
1. Is there any consideration put into the Labyrinth ladder rewards?

Right now only the one best Player receives an item, and this item is not receivably in any other way. If you look at the ladder, there is only ever one player (the same one) that is so far ahead of everyone else that there is no real competition for the #1 spot, and he gets all the rewards, every day. This seems both for the competition and the economy of these items completly absurd.

2. Why is content gated by unavailability instead of difficulty?

Maps are limited by map drops, Delve is limited by sulphite.
I personally stop playing every league usually after i get to red maps, because obtaining them is absolute ass. I have to buy most of the ones i run, but running them isnt, on average, very difficult. So i would have to run yellow maps that pose no challenge and also feel bad to do, while i could do something more difficult and advanced, but i just dont have access to them. Thats not fun, its tedious and annoying.

How and When are "items created by supporters" made? If I have a cool idea for an item where do I share this?

Regards
I know that at least Chris plays Magic the Gathering, how excited is the team for War of the Spark.
I have been playing PoE for a very long time and I am coming back for every new league, but there is something that is bothering me more and more. With every new league the game seems to demand more time if you want to fully engage with the league mechanics. I understand that the achievements, especially when you want 36+, are for the most dedicated of players, but I feel that the "true" endgame of the league is also mostly inaccessible if one doesn't treat PoE as a second job.

For example, I have been playing a lot of Synthesis when it started and the Cortex never spawned for me. I had only a couple of Mastermind fights and cities during Betrayal and Delve. I didn't encounter a single legendary beast during Bestiary. And so on.

Same thing applies to the crafting mechanics of the new leagues. Synthesis and Delve crafting, better treat the game as a trading simulator if you want more than a few attempts during the entire league.

As a result, I always have a burnout after a few weeks of each new league. I struggle to complete the atlas, I hope that I encounter the endgame league mechanics, but ultimately I feel like I am accomplishing nothing and then I quit and wait for the next league.

With all that said, my question: Are there any plans reverse the current trend and experiment with less time and RNG intensive endgame features in upcoming leagues?
What do you think of the 2 most requested features to be implemented to the game?

- First we have an automatic buy/sell system where the players would be able to buy items without having the other player to be online.

- Pets system. I know this sounds alot like bestiary but no. How about pets to be able to open around chests, pickup currency and who knows what else?
