" DITTO. I don't mind the Atlas Maps being shuffled each league, but the equivalent completion credit should be Permanent in Standard. It's in-congruent, and economically unfair to allow powerful Legacy Uniques to persist in standard while Unique map completion bonuses reset each league. Someone pays a shit-ton of exalts for legacy Kaom's then great for them. Someone pays a ton for a Perandus Manor but too bad, so sad, it's getting erased. Not fair. The point of Standard has always been a "Permanent" league that cumulatively compiles everything form each league. Fon't clal it Permanent if it's not going to be. |

" Ha, who are these "most of us"? You and your guild-bubble? I actually don't give a shit about leagues and according to the shitstorms during the announcements of new features of any league there are quite a few who think the same. But then I agree that there's no need for a break - just seen from the other side ;) |

I didn't (don't) like Synthesis league.
Here is why: (I'm a casual fyi) The crafting (main feature) was mostly available for the 1% that snipes gear on the trading site for several exalts. If I wanted to do crafting, not only I had to stack up on heavy currency, just to craft something decent, but had to check and learn hundreds of data mined rows of implicit and combinations. I mean...bro chill. Even if I ignore the crafting part, the amount of fractured items...my god, the number of those. I believe that's a marketing stunt to make players buy more stash tabs lel dude. So I have 4 stash tabs full of fractured items. Wanna sell them, maybe? So I go "well is this mod good? Wait, is this a good mod, but good on this base? Are these 2 go well together? Yes? Wait it has other mods, are those good too or just ignore them? Whatevs, let's move on. I guess more fractured mods, the better? SO I have hundred items, better start price checking." After 3 items and 20 minutes I give up. Consuming too much time and effort. Vendor them bye bye. Oh wait, that bow with +1 level to socketed gems were 1.5ex? Well, fck me, I guess. Back to enjoying Sythetis league. Not. The nexus was a mess to look at first. Didn't know what was happening there and what to do, so I (just like most of the players) ignored it until very later on. Even now, when I have a better understanding, I feel it's too complicated and cumbersome. We need to collect many memories and place them to reach rewards. If the grid was smaller and had to use 1-3 memories to reach the rewards I may like it better. Not sure tho. The game currently is a mess, but I'm sure you devs know this. I mean it's everywhere (forums, reddit, etc). Too.much.content. You are forcing players to do everything at once. A quick example: I log in, wanna spawn u-elder on my map. Hey I got master missions, I don't wanna lose them so I better do them now. If they spawned on low lvl maps, I'm screwed. If they spawned on high lvl maps, I can go ahead. Open map, meet zana, get mem fragment. Check if I'm full. Yes? Go and palce it in the nexus. Not? Good, can proceed. Meet Niko. Get sulphite. Check if I'm full. Yes? Go ahead and delve. Not? Good, can proceed. Keep repeating this. Oh wait, a master spawned on a elder influenced map, I better do it before reset. Oh wait, I can't do it because that's gonna screw up my u-elder spawn. Quick, complete the spawning before reset. Oh wait, I'm full on memories, better go to the nexus. Phew, back to ma...oh crap wait, one of my syndicate safehouse is ready to raid? Ok let's go. How much time I had left before reset? WTF! 25 minutes? I haven't even done crap since log-in and I'M playing for 3 hours now...I was just running around like a headless chicken doing nexusdelvetemplesyndicate. I really don't understand why do masters spawn on maps, just to mess up my influences. I really don't understand why are there 6000 helm enchantments. Why are they so much better than glove or boot enchantments? Balance it? Maybe? Make it more player friendly so not only the labrunners do the labruns every league but the other 99% of the playerbase? I hate this game became (over the years) a blind clicking simulator. If your build doesn't 1 shot mobs, it sucks. POE is (became) the Fortnite of ARPGs. Yea I SAID IT! SO WHAT? YOU WANNA GO? SWING FIRST! SWING FIRST NI- That's the sad truth. No skill is required. Bossfights? Maybe some of them, but most of them is just a clusterfck anyway. Masters: Alva: Nothing amazing, but not that bad either. Temple is pretty boring, unless you find a corruption or sacrifice room. Than you can enjoy it for that 10 second. Jun: I like the safehouses and different rewards. Hate syndicate members, mainly their abilities...and here comes again clusterfck. You can't see what skills they use because it's a mess. Mobs spawning in green smokes while enemies are jumping around, but oh wait here comes the Haku slam...oh Vorici and Tora join in what do I do now? I bette...meh who cares I just keep running around until they are dead. I'm a pro with lots of skill. Too bad I won't be able to collect most of the crafts until league ends so I rely on people who already have them because they were buying Jun prophecies, because that's the only way. Niko: Pretty good, until it forced on me because I'm full on sulphite. I just wanna run it when I feel like it, not when I have to. Also, it's way too rewarding compared to the other masters. Einhar: Meh. When I see yellow/red beasts on my map I'm like "damn, I gotta waste 10-20 seconds on these until Einhar captures them so I can move on". They are nothing special, clusterfck skills again. After that I gotta fight them again to get a craft. The craft part I like. But the bland fights with those "mobs" is boring. Zana: Free maps i pretty good. But after a few Zanas I stopped doing her missions because they don't give nothing special late game, just a free map. And that case I just skip a map she is on, and do more important things. But still, she is pretty decent. Also, there are way too many unique items in the game, And like 80% of them is useless and 5% of them is on par with good rares. The unique items really had a fall since the prev few leagues. Also, next league melee buff (watch out snowflakes): Many players talk about this, also the devs mentioned this. However, this game doesn't have melee skills. Too bad there are too many fanbois. When you equip a skill (for example melee) with support gems that make your whole screen explode and shoot projectiles 842 directions, it's not a melee skill anymore. It's just a very short ranged "ranged skill". I remember the good 'ol Diablo 2 days. Barbarian Whirlwind? Check! Paladin smite? Check! Druid fire bear claw mate yee-haa? Check! Those are the melee skills. Ofc there are grey areas. Like cleave and such. But still, everything in POE is just overcompensated. Hopefully a dev reads this. These are just my thoughts, I don't say change the game or don't. I'm pretty tired I'm sure I had more to say but this is all I can squeeze out of myself at the moment. " I'm thinking that this announcement by itself is something that you did after getting feedback. I love those news, personally I just didn't "play the league" since it's too advanced for me and need more time and investment. I know it's hard to get something rewarding for people who don't invest too much time on the game (others can just abuse it). The best thing on this post is melee update. I always loved to play melee characters, but this changed over the time. Ranged skills and spells are so much more effective, easy and need less investment. Finally, I just want to say this announcement makes me feel so much better, I feel that my voice is finally heard by GGG. (even though I'm not contributing much) so thanks a lot ! Edit : Also when I started reading I felt like you will end this league earlier than usual, I'm fine with that but IDK about others Last edited by rurush on Apr 9, 2019, 4:43:18 PM

It's great that they finally started to work on melee reworks , but I have to say all the hate Synthesis gets , there were way worse leagues than it.
Just my personal opinion (prophecy and harbinger), just felt so plain, and there were nothing really special. But one thing I believe I have to say is , that I straight up lost the tension I once felt when a new league started, or rather when I started playing PoE. In my opinion the whole point of temporary leagues was, to be able to play it for a short time, basically it felt like a once in the life time sell. With this all the league items, content and the stuff I earned within the league would make it seem more worth it and not like I just have to wait a short time to be able to play in Standard. Because the whole point about adding temporary leagues to the core game, made me lose this tension, at the the moment the so called "temporary leagues ", just feel like a beta-versions, where you let your community test itm there are so many bugs which ruining the experience for me and for beginners, just imagine playing a league with your chosen build till level 50 just to notice there is a bug which prevents the support and skill gem from working together . I would call this rather nasty. Another thing which pisses me off, are the mtx, you keep producing them like its nothing , some flashy lights here, anothere here and then reusing the former skin, you developed some years ago, they just doesnt seem unique anymore. The only mtx I personal favour , is the new hat out of the boxes, it gives off this madhatter-wipe. Back to the issue, you should straight up, put up more work on the quality than the quantity, another thing are loot boxes, which you mostly get added when you publish new leagues, people keep getting endless copies of the same mtx, yeah I dont need to buy them, but I buy them because I straight up like this game , and in complete they would cost a shit ton of money. My personal opinion make them league specific and not viable in the shop after the league , it makes the people who bought them, feel rather pissed off, It would make the people who bought them not like the game is fucking fooling them, even when it is xD. I hate thos feeling, just imagine getting only hideout mtx for the 50 bucks supporter pack points and then some "" which bought them in the shop getting the full armour set because he used 100 fricking bucks to buy them. And my last point, put the damn community race events which were hosted once in the league back into the game, I dont know how its for you guys, but even if I was bad at them they still gave me the feeling to play something unique, which could reward people which were good at them, no only they were funm, but also rewarding.Which made playing standard seem more enjoyable and still like its part of the game and not some kind build tester or glorious trash can, and guys dont hate me for the point with the boxes. I know Im wasting my money but for me its like buying new equipment for my personal hobby.
The one off week after a league was always great. Gave people the push to dip their toes into standard and experiment. Also a week to think about your next build, theory craft, etc. without some last minute stuff in the league distracting you.
I would like it if you didn't get rid of that off week. It would be perfect if you also invested some resources to actually improving the standard experience, especially the stash.
sounds fun

I would love to see the league continue until the launch of 3.7.0, personally.
That said, I am also very much in favour of running optional Turmoil/Mayhem/Flashback events at the same time. I would be happy to wait if ever it is felt that a league launch needs to be delayed for stability/quality reasons. If this should be necessary, hypothetically, keeping the existing league going until the transition makes even more sense. |
