Mom and dad are playing PS4 poe cause it has an ACTUAL TRADE SYSTEM.
" If our "favourite" top tier trader is so adamant that improvements, and I do mean at least "IMPROVEMENTS" like ASYNCHRONICITY, and some way to trade bulk "currency items", not even a full blown AH, would be needed, although better implication from TencentGGG regarding "policing" the market would be ideal (less bots, scams, deterring "instant flipping")... Her Highness is so right, not getting what you want, when you can afford it $uck$ b@ll$. We "can't have our cake, and eat it too", but the most important part for both a player that wants to "play PoE as intended" AND/OR a market simulator is actually getting that wanted item WHEN YOU NEED IT... Having "ghost listings" plague the trade APIs for unlimited time got "old" a very, very long time ago. TencentGGG needed to "git gud & up to snuff" regarding trade "yesterday", but hey, they're affraid to get themselves too involved because reasons... PSS: Our almighty TencentGGG overlords are very scrupulous regarding criticizing their abilities to take proper decisions and consider everything "needlessly harsh and condescending"... Good to know "free speech" doesn't apply in any form or manner on the forums these days... Last edited by sofocle10000#6408 on Apr 4, 2019, 12:00:53 PM

You guys know that even if the exact same ah of ps4 is implemented in pc you can still use poetrade to find the rares you need, right?
What would change is that you would not need to manually trade with 100 different people if you want to buy 100 essences, lol. |

" What are you talking about? Its sorted by armor/weapon type, and you can highlight specific names. Sure maybe there is some scrolling, but seriously its nowhere near 5000 pages of trash. "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

" Maybe take a long hard look and read the last "trade manifesto" published by TencentGGG. They don't want "trade to be too facilitated" so it's either one option or the other. A clasic case of "you can't have your cake and eat it too", and they still hide behind that mentality, because actually improving trade would mean they would have to get involved and regulate the economy which means WORK, and we all know they can't possibly add that on their table too, because reasons... Regardless, I'm still with Her Highness on this problem. Trade needs to be brought to current century ASAP... >Community complains about bots.
>Demand an automated AH. >Botters would get the most out of this. >community declares all who are against AH to be said botters and price fixers. What is this, i don't even? >Be consoles. >Don't have access to trade section of PoE official site, marcos or other 3rd party helping tools. >Have rather simple but nightmare inducing AH-lite to compensate. >Get's meme'd on April 1st. >PC community wants it more now. >Console players urge PC against it, cites it's glaring issues. >PC ignore logic and reason for feelings. There are so many ways to improve the current system that still preserve having each party give final confirmation so that bots can’t grab stuff instantaneously. Asynchronous trading can be implemented without an “auction house,” and even an auction house can have safeguards and limitations so currency isnt being flipped so fast it causes some huge flash market crash or something.
Basically, trading has never been a black-and-white problem with an all-or-nothing solution. I’m all for improvements but they don’t have to fully follow any model that already exists, and it’s hard to predict the impacts without seeing what those improvements are. I’d start with letting us trade asynchrinously with people who are busy or offline - we could leave offers and the other person accepts or declines at some later point. Maybe even more confirmations so the process can’t be instant, or maybe the process is only instant with certain kinds of items (currency, maps, etc) or stash tabs (all items priced the same vs each item individually priced). GGG can focus on some low-hanging fruit like this if they’re nervous. Or do test leagues to see what happens. We're all in this leaky boat together, people.

" ^This. I'm playing a bit on PS4 right now, and have also played the Xbox port. The trade system is identical for both. To elaborate, say you want to search for an onyx amulet. You select jewelry, amulets, then onyx. Then you have to literally scroll through and view the tooltips for every single amulet looking for one you want. Mind you that you are doing this with a controller so it's even slower than it sounds. You can't filter by specific suffixes/prefixes/etc like on PoE trade. The only filtering you can really do is to highlight the uniques. Searching for jewels is something of a nightmare as well. The only real "benefit" over PC trade is that you never have to bother with whispers and visiting hideouts to trade in person. It's all anonymous and done from your trade tabs. But whatever time you might have saved with that is lost by all the scrolling you have to struggle through. So yeah, like he said in the quote, I think most here would be pulling their hair out with that system on PC. It has obvious potential that could be expanded to include the advanced filtering from poe.trade, but I don't know if they'll ever take it that far. |

" I dont know if its more fun but there already is trading so they may as well do an AH since it would be the same to people who dont trade anyways Also how else would consoles trade if there wasnt an AH < only reason they added it i bet |
|
" Unfortunately this is not true. They explained more than once in their trade manifestos, that, if they made trades more easy and accessible, then they will have to adjust the drop rates of items dramatically. So introducing an AH will strongly affect the playera who not trade since they will get way less good drops. |
|
" Of course it is way more easy to hide behind rants than try to invalidate the reasons which GGG explained in detail in their manifestos. I think they are very plausible and try to keep economy and player motivation to farm good equipment healthy, and this is what keeps the game alive for the majority of players (mostly the players which play the game and dont cry in forums). In your words i can only hear the greed ... |
