Some games are more fun without trade.

Games that are overtly balanced around the expectation that people will trade early and often typically are not.

I wouldn't be surprised if the reception and feedback to the trading setup on Ps4 is a litmus test for whether or not it gets implemented on PC. I mean, in TencentGGG's place, that's what I'd be doing. Obviously you can't use the domestic PC version as such a test because domestic Chinese players have different standards and expectations to long-time international players, but the ps4 has clearly inherited some veteran PC PoE players who are now outright saying the trade setup on console is superior to the wonky crap we've put with on PC for years.

Not exactly hard to connect the dots there.

But what about the X-Box version, or does the PS4 one has a different trade system? If not, they were already harvesting data since the X-Box one was out, and PS4 will at most confirm it...

Regardless, maybe they will get it through their th!ck $kull$ that trading needs a plethora of improvements on PC. Heck, even for the "miscellaneous" currencies like maps, offerings, sextants, scarabs, fossils, essences etc. we need a way to seamless trade a larger number that the current ones...

And of course SSF is "fun", unfortunately, not due to real improvements regarding the drop system or the crafting one, but due to the power creep tsunami since 2.4.0. That is making possible to reach end game with never seen before gaps in defense, as long as you don't mind dying a few times on Softcore, and/or previously close to impossible gaps regarding equipment, build choices etc.

It's really led to a change in the genre that PoE represents, and although it started as a hardcore ARPG, it (de)evolved into a top of the class arcade "pew pew" shooter, heck one of the best on the market, as long as you stomach it's stuck in the "limbo between beta product and final release ready"...

Regardless, Borderlands 3 is confirmed and it has weapons with legs, so if the next 3.7.0, PoE "mythical melee revamp" patch fails, I know what I'll be doing for a very long time...

The Xbox was a test of the waters, but we didn't see much talk of it here. I suspect it's just a numbers game. More people have Ps4s, according to pretty much every report I've looked into while responding to you. :P

SSF in a game made by trade junkies expecting most of their players to be similarly infatuated with trade is pure masochism. Let's not make more of it than it is.

Well, if PS4 version actually convinces TencentGGG to bring trade improvements via even an AH for at least miscellaneous items, I'll buy a PS4 Pro and PoE packs, heck even a PS5/New Xbox.

As pure masochism, pure SSF is, I'm actually 90% SSF as I'm a casual n00b hoarder that tends to buy items once in a while because it would be "fun". And I'm still sinking around 1H of PoE playtime every day to simply level 1% towards 100 on my 99 main. Reached 99.50%, then the "Synthesis" update hit and due to the Betrayal implementation I get to enjoy leveling from 99.02% again. No problem, as that will make sure I get to see the 3.7.0 update...

PSS: Our almighty TencentGGG overlords are very scrupulous regarding criticizing their abilities to take proper decisions and consider everything "needlessly harsh and condescending"...

Good to know "free speech" doesn't apply in any form or manner on the forums these days...

I'm all for using the console system just for currency, maps, essences, fossils, etc.

Don't really think it is a good thing for gear though. Not to mention when it comes time for people to min/max gear on the consoles it's going to suck. It doesn't work very well when you start looking for really detailed stats.
How does trading for currency and maps work for console version?
Auction isn't a problem. Two way of trading should coexist and all of us could be choose between both systems.

But i feel all player complaining about actual trade system are player who love and support truly this game and are pissed off to see all shit happen with bot scammer fixer and currencies reseller.

Social trade expect and value are an illusion.

You want real socials things ? Improve guild :

- goals quest
- goals challenges
- special guild map
- customized rank
- guild hideout
- buy upgrade for guild with specifics guild currencies reward( buff - decorative item - improve Qol)

It makes trading for the things I actually want to trade for (maps and build specific uniques) way easier.

"AH will kill the game" hyperbole never made sense. The people who are going to twink out a character and be done with all content for a build are already doing that on like day 2-3 of a league on PC anyways.

No big deal one way or another to me though, can use either or.
I think they'd rather say they don't want to add an AH as opposed to admit they don't know how. From other design elements of this game, it seems pretty obvious they either need a new engine or some more talented programmers in general. I mean, if they were good at programming why would movement skills get stuck on every little object?

-I know there are psuedo-AH on consoles but compared to other games they are still pretty shite.

Lol no auction house in 2K19 online rpg.We are not playing Diablo 1 anymore.
I have no problem with never getting an Auction House. More the opposite, i am happy as they told us they would never implement it. I played several games with auction houses and the reality was always that we had trade bots everywhere which only waited to flip items which were (intended or not) offered to a good price.
You had not even a chance by trying to buy it manually since the automated scripts are always faster than the human hand. Since we have a player interaction here everybody has a chance to get the items he want to a good price from time to time.
And if you learn to ignore the first site of price-fixers on the market you will have a good time trading. Since i started to trade from time to time if i need a specific item i have always gotten what i needed in a fair amount of time.

I hope they will stay hard in their line like they were since the start of this excellent game.

The trade botting in the game is rampant. 90% of currency trades are bots. What are you talking about?
