Update about Synthesis League Changes

This long reply isn't deleted.

I was pumped for league based on the last few showing improvements in some areas, though the regression in others makes me question like blizzard what this devs intentions really are.

We are given excuses and worse arbitrary conditions in which nerfs are done to the game cause things would be too easy.

Low and behold GGG introduces synthesis. First of all it's flipping convoluted.

So when me and other players take time to inform ourselves and other players like ziggyd go out of their way to test and research the mechanic guess what GGG does?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdpYNIN89ck

They get rid of the looping.

So before I get tards and shills coming at me lets establish one fact. You cannot loop before this patch and in this patch to 3 zones or more at once. His loop only let you go back one map/area.

GGG hasn't made time to change the busted mapping system
GGG hasn't made time to address their lack of queue management on their servers
GGG hasn't made time to fix crashing which in this league or lab screws you over

GGG has found the time to make R-N-Gesus suck more
GGG is always finding more reasons to charge players
GGG just loves to nerf actively in the season when it suits them builds or mechanics

I think I'm done bothering being a guinea pig for league mechanic that is built to make the player fail and that can't be addressed but a looping mechanic to maximize the convoluted mechanic is. Get a PTR. Stop having leagues that are 3 months when you can't even beta test otherwise bad, not thought out, or well built mechanics.

The whole mantra of doing difficult things and having some payoff is a joke. There's no real pay off in the game even if you play a million times. Way to give us a busted mechanic in which the ground retreats so fast you can't really explore or kill for xp nerfing the ability to maximize the area. Lets not forget when you fail a try you don't get a piece and as you get higher tier maps that screws you out of loot you would otherwise have in another season. This was intentional and clearly can be controlled. Love how some starts are rigged so that a wrong turn screws you. This company shouldn't wonder why a lot of gamers not in to this kind of stuff don't bother.

Like lab it's a forced mechanic of having to obsecenely keep moving for little reward plus having to fight your way through things. Lab has rewards to me compared to this but sysnthesis is total hit or miss and the nerfs make it less appealing.

These changes are a joke. Your company is a joke and if you and blizzard are the top of this genre dead serious I'm going back to fighters and shooters.

Ooooo I like the idea of the memory changes - will make things simpler in some ways in that it may be easier to plan, but should allow for some complex memory runs if that is what floats ur boat.

Glad to see your still active in adapting this league, thought you may be focussed on 3.7 by now, he he.
Well, this might actually be decent now. Moving pieces around is kind of a game-changer, if I'm not mistaken that means we should be able to remotely build out a path and avoid the problem of trying to slap down new tiles behind you as the memory you're in collapses.

Though it says something when the change that has me most excited is the addition of more access to old content:

Worst thing for me in synthesis are items. I agree mechanics are not that bad, but when you finally want something for your effort, put 3 items to synthetiser and get TOTAL SHIT item, thats demotivating to play synthesis. And its so easy to fix it! Just fix shitty items! Why is GGG so scared to put some OP yellow items into game?

True, fix these yellow items come on.
Most of these changes sound good, I'll probably start to actually engage with the league at this point.

What's still puzzling to me though is that for quite a while now you seem to depend on actual player feedback to identify broken/unrewarding mechanics. I'm pretty sure you playtest the content before release, why aren't these shortcomings found out in advance? How can the experience of your inhouse testers differ so much from the average player and/or streamer? Are your guys going in blind for these playtests? Otherwise this might heavily influence the assessment, cause knowing all the mechanics beforehand (especially in complex leagues) will naturally lead to a completely different experience.

For future leagues maybe enlist the help of some streamers (with a NDA attached ofc) to thoroughly review the content, so that when the league goes live only minor adjustments are necessary. The problem I see here is that those guys would then have a massive knowledge headstart, maybe they'd have to agree to not engage in racing to 100 or something like that. I don't know, just an idea, cause clearly the current system isn't working too well.

I have zero desire to see this happen.

With all of the On Screen "stuff" in a memory (the decay effect for the walls, and decay that doesn't spread in some memories, shimmery weird mobs that look odd against some of the tile sets, ground effects from some of the synthesized mobs), coupled with the need to MOVE and MOVE NOW, having to make sure you don't trip an abyss is nauseating.

Pls check the blue stuff, its way to fast most of the time, it really sucks at it is now.
this league is a shit and you know
The end of all that is - The winter has come - Hold the door - The North Remembers
I hope you have a good life on the other side of the wall

These changes sound great. I can't wait to see how much more satisfying it is to run memories after the patch.
I'm just happy not to desync.
Nice, as usual, 2-4weeks to adjust bugs and rearrange the league according to players feedback, Good GGG Work^^.

Even if they need 1 month to fix and change this, its all good, enough time to test builds, do other things since there is allready a lot of content.
I understand people are so impatient and frustrated but the mad part is mostly the Betrayals bugs and at some points maps drop that was blocking people.

Synthesis itself can be half-skipped until its fixed, i still enjoy the game a lot^^.

At least GGG is really doing changes and always listen to people feedback, even if for people it can seems sooo long, changing issues, working on a game takes time, a looot more than you think.

(Now please just remove the memory limit on Nexus map and double the memory we can stock XD)
