Hey mate, first time player on ps4 and loving the build :)

Just wondering what you think on the weapon Montegrul Grasp (https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Mon%27tregul%27s_Grasp)

Thoughts are to go pure lightning with phase and make the fire and cold DMG count

Also thanks :), will likely try the RF build next season

Other players have commented that MG by reducing their Zombie count made them feel that their Witch was a little more exposed (reduced Meat Shield). So I was a little concerned when I tried it out for a bit. It was not against fierce content mind you, but I did not notice anything worrying regarding the Zombie Shield. If you have easy and cheap access to one (never a sure thing on Console), I would say "give it a go". If you like it, great; if not, no big deal.

For End Game, I run 6 Link Skeletons and 4 Link Zombies (I transition from 6 Link Zombies and 4 Link Skeletons). 4 Link Zombies mean that I can deal with Physical Reflect (Zombies less likely to die, and I can re-summon them on the fly). MG made Physical Reflect destroy my Zombies once more - if you care. I also suspect that MG might be better in tight spaces (if Zombies can crowd each other out) but I didn't use it long enough to find out (the Delve comes to mind).

If one fell my way during levelling, I would definitely equip it, at least until something shinier came my way.

Hey Phipsier,

Welcome to the game! I'm glad you're enjoying it and the build! I love the console version.

Mon't's is a really good weapon with an equal amount of pros and cons. There really isn't a right or wrong answer regarding it. You cut the amount of allies getting agro in half, but they have way more life and damage. The DPS is roughly the same at the end of the day whether you play with it or not (with the exception of some great Rare weapons).

Like walkjohn55 mentioned, it's one of those things you have to try out. But try it out for a good long time. Get some good map runs in on both easy and scary mods.

Out of curiosity, how were you going to do:
"Thoughts are to go pure lightning with phase and make the fire and cold DMG count"?

Thanks for the thanks! I appreciate it :).I hope you keep on liking the build(s). Let me know if you have any more questions or suggestions regarding the build/guide.

Thanks for the reply, I am currently using the weapon and kill speed is pretty much the same, I like the giant tanky zombies :P

With the weapon, enemies killed by zombies explode dealing fire damage, I don't know how much damage, but was thinking that on higher tier maps, it might be useful

Cheers

Sweet! And the "pure lightning with phase" part?

(Everything helps the deeper you go in the game.)

I love Mon't's.

Ah, I meant charged dash, sorry

So what I meant was I'd do only lightning damage so that Elemental Equilibrium would lower both the fire and cold resistance of mobs

Two other thoughts for you here Wrecker of Days and others using the build:

1) I didnt like using Charged dash as I found the charge up time to be dangerous to use. standing still for it to charge is a good way to die and doesnt give a lot of mobility options when fighting some of these more irritating bosses with high aoe.

Instead I swapped to Leap Slam and put in a jewel that gives something like 2-25 lightning damage, so EE still procs and i can just jump around for days while my MG zombies smash everyone.

I also swapped in Convocation into this build so its no issue that there are fewer zombies. No need for the desecrate gem skill when my zombies almost never die. Except for physical reflect maps which they still dont die that much.

Engagement goes like this: leap slam into a group and use convocation, insta kill the whole pack, move on. Running the big zombies from MG with 2 Volatile Dead Jewels means that just one zombie is doing so much aoe damage they are still one shotting blue packs in T12 maps.

Additionally, using MG opens up gem slot because you no longer need for minion life because frankly 24k life on one zombie is enough lol. I'm going to be filling this slot with a MF blue gem as soon as I get the 6 link chest piece

2) For bosses and big rooms Vaal Skeletons is simply devastating (those laboratory things for Jun where you have to protect the chests, final part of a delve, huge packs in memory nexus when you gotta run to find the nodes, etc.) Flesh and Spirit has the benefit of giving double Vaal souls when you're rampaging (which is pretty much all the time). If you're running fast then you can pretty much have permanent uptime on vaal skeletons.

Good suggestions! I appreciate it! Here's me personally on those:

Charged Dash is the only movement skill that doesn't make me nauseous.

Convocation is awesome. I wish I could watch the screen all the time to be able to use it efficiently. Just keep in mind that Desecrate guarantees corpses for your offering. It'll only ever b be an issue in bosses battles without ads, but keep it in mind.

Very true! Just keep in mind that unless you're perfect with Convocation, Mon't's AND Minion Life Support won't keep your zombies alive against the Guardians and Shaper. But, that's also what the skeletons are for.

Awesome :)

To have an image displayed in your post as a picture, not a link, you can't have any spaces between the HTML code and the link. Also, you have to include the file type in the link (such as: .png or .gif...)

Awesome post and suggestions! It's awesome when you're flying through T12s when you've made the build your own! Great job! Thanks for sharing and helping!

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I write everyone's suggestions down and consider them for the next patch. So I really do appreciate the suggestions.

Hi

I've been trying to follow your excellent guide.
I'm having lots of fun with it.
I think I'm on the right track with it.

Do you think I have the right gem setup or would you change anything to improve what I've done so far ?

would you swap convocation to desecrate ?
