" Unfortunately I'm with you on this. I've been crying my tears off since Breach league with GGG adding more and more and more and more special effects and animations to a point when I can use only four skills. Any fire or projectile based skills are unplayable. Not even talking about when new mechanics come into play, like Abyss or Betrayal, which transform the game into a slideshow. " Nothing. This just means you can't stack them. For example, under the current system you could use Frost Bomb and a majority cold damage Wave of Conviction to reduce enemy cold resistances by -25% and -25% for a total -50% cold resistance. Obviously, they don't want this since it'd build up to a balancing nightmare as more sources of resistance reduction are added to the game. So now any of those skills will simply apply 'Cold Exposure' as a debuff, reducing the enemy resistance by 25%, and then you can't use another such skill/mechanic to reduce it further (as they already have that debuff). Mind you this only applies to those skills/mechanics that apply this debuff (atm in 3.6 that's just Wave of Conviction, Frost Bomb and Scorching Ray). So you can still lower their resists with other methods that don't mention Exposure, such as curses, resistance reduction mods on fossil-crafted helmets, Occultists' Void Beacon Ascendancy node, etc. But if they ever want to prevent any of those stacking in future, they can change them to apply the Exposure debuff instead as well. |

" Fossil helms are probably going to stay the same - they only provide -9% enemy resists anyway. They didn't say every resistance reducing mechanic was going to be changed to Exposure - so far they've only mentioned Frost Bomb, Scorching Ray and this new Wave of Conviction skill. They needed to do this mainly because of the new Wave of Conviction skill actually - since it's effect is dependent on its majority damage type, it'd be possible to stack it with Frost Bomb or Scorching Ray to get -50% resists. And they can add more sources to the game now as none of them will stack. But curses, penetration gems, fossil helms and Occultist Void Beacon node will probably stay as effective as before.
