Yaaaaay, 50% increased damage from a Blight build removed. Next thing would be lowering the gem numbers as well. -.- F*cking hell.

Do you people even use your brain?

Waa waa waa 50% increased damage is gone.

Do the math. It gets replaced by 90% increased damage.

Next.

Alright, because you seem to have problem using your brain. How does replacing the damage with Wither help if you had another source of Wither in the first place?
Oh, looks rly nice. Next week we gonna try it :D
Got myself a RAID!

Hey GGG,

Can we assume that Banes dmg calculation per curse is similar to that of Flameblast due to the fact that you've used the wording "For each" which is only found on Flameblast & Incinerate when it comes to Multiplicative dmg modifiers?

Example below:

(Base dmg * (1+(additive dmg+additive dmg+additive dmg) * (1+(Additive multi)*multi*multi*multi)) = end dmg * (increased dmg taken) = actual dmg done

Ex if Banes multiplier does NOT work like Flameblast:
1000 base dmg
50% inc dmg
45% inc dmg
50% more dmg per curse (5 curses)

(1000 * (1+0.5+0.45)) * (1.5*1.5*1.5*1.5*1.5) =
(1000 * 1.95) * 7.59375 = 14807.8125 DMG

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ex if Banes curse modifier is additive like Flameblast:
1000 base dmg
50% inc dmg
45% inc dmg
50% more dmg per curse (5 curses)

(1000 * (1+0.5+0.45)) * (1+0.5+0.5+0.5+0.5+0.5) =
(1000 * 1.95) * 3.5 = 6825 DMG

looks bad, too slow
next
I really wonder how that interacts with Doedre's Skin though? Because socketed curse skills in it bypasses the curse limit.

Rend leeches ES, Drain leeches Life. While they do not *work* together, their synergy is the double aspected leech. With something that can rapidly cast both spells you'll be getting back twice as much.
Essence Drain regenerates Life (or ES with Zealot's Oath) based on its tooltip debuff DPS per affected target. It has nothing to do with leech and repeatedly casting ED on the same target doesn't increase the life regen.

Contagion doesn't spread Bane, so I'm confused about this combo.

Increased AOE, yes. Area damage probably won't work because damage over time directly applied to enemies generally isn't considered area damage. Blight doesn't benefit from area damage, for example.

Good catch!

I'm going to assume it works like Flameblast and Incinerate because it seems to be a stat on the Bane gem, meaning the "more for each" amount is added together as having the same source (like increasing the gem level of a support gem), instead of being multiplied like seperate "more" effects.

What this means is that adding curses gets less effective for Bane's damage as you add more:
1 curse = 47% more damage
2 curses = 94% more damage (instead of 116%)
3 curses = 141% more damage (instead of 217%)
4 curses = 188% more damage (instead of 367%)
5 curses = 235% more damage (instead of 586%)

Always a fan of Chaos skills!
looks like uncreative copies of the previous chaos spells
I usually do not read popular posts again after i made a comment on it, unless it's one of my own. I wish to have a Black robed Grim Reaper micro set in game one day, grant my wish, GGG

ya that makes sense. i guess conc would only effect the projectile. was hoping for a replacement to empower for raw damage. Still excited to see essence drain got some attention nonetheless!

Yeah, a fifth standard damage support for Essence Drain would certainly be great.

I'm not even sure about the projectile because they are only talking about an area for the debuff on impact, not necessarily dealing projectile damage in an area.
