Path of Exile 3.6.0 will not support Windows XP or Vista

Please,GGG, implement support for direct 12 and vulkan api.
DX9 is like 17 years old and DX11 like 10 years old.

If you complain about "but muh hardware"...I am terribly sorry...but even PoE is not as old as DX9 and that game is ancient already.

If you are running games on a 10 year old computer then I am sorry to tell you...your time has come.

Windows XP is like 18 YEARS old now.

Why would anyone in their right mind run such an unsafe and antique system and expect it to be supported any longer?

Salty people need to finally go with the times. Win7 which seems to be super beloved by many people will not be going away anytime soon from the support list.

And I am PRETTY sure you can get a DX11 card that can run PoE for less than $10 now....if you cannot afford that...then how can you even afford the power to run your PC? xD

I know for a fact you test performances on high end computers.

Yeah no kidding.

"In our tests we have concluded that rain doesn't affect performance at all."

Man was that ever a joke back in the day.
I applaud this and every other step that brings PoE closer to being mobile compatible!

Spoiler
But seriously, I get 'dropping the XP support' part, but I know a few ppl for whom dx9 is the only option (old GPU's)

Edit: For all those laughing at winXP users - I still use c64, DOS, win 3.11 and win95.

Wheel is like several thousand years old.

"The DirectX 11 version (with shadows) performs much better than the DirectX 9 one did without shadows enabled."

Tried both options, you're incorrect.

No, no it is not. No one could use it till 2010, the first "working" models that came out in 2009 were so poorly utilized you can not count it's release as being June 2009.

The point was that there has been a decade to upgrade. If you're still running pre-DX11 hardware and trying to run a modern game that relies on it, it is silly to blame the company for not supporting your crusty old machine.

For additional context, Fermi was the Nvidia architecture that first supported Dx11; with the GTX 480. This was followed by the Keplar architecture in 2012, which ran until 2014 when the Maxwell architecture was released with the GTX 900. This was improved upon by the Pascal architecture in 2016. Finally we arrive at the Turing, which while wasn't a huge improvement, did mark a new generation of GPUs.

The point of all that is that if you lack GTX11 support you are running hardware 5 generations (not 5 iterations, but entire generations of chip architectures) old. There is no reason to demand devs maintain support for ancient hardware. Asking them to do so requires they exponentially increase their workload to build compatible software, own the requisite hardware configurations, and verify that it is playable on those machines. My machine is new, but by no means cutting edge, and I have no client side problems with Path of Exile. I certainly don't run it maxed out, but I wouldn't expect to.

Don't saddle me with your misguided desire to run old hardware. If you want to run old hardware play old games. Asking studios to support your ancient hardare/software is akin to the Amish demanding home construction code require compatibility with their butter churns and buggies.

My dream is to see a post that GGG announces the support of Linux based systems. What a dream!

Meh, game still runs like it's in beta mode on AMD hardware.

using AMD in 2k19 XD

Can you please tell me the reason why people use "k" in place of a "0"? It doesn't shorten the year, yet requiring the same effort, like in all honesty the only reason 2k(Insert year) was a thing was due to 2K Games putting their name part of the year... I guess I am just old and no hip anymore, ./shrug.
