Path of Exile 3.6.0 will not support Windows XP or Vista
There is still a bug with POE that effects people when you use direct x 11, there is no sound.
If you do a google search you will see this bug is still around and has no working fix other then using dx9 mode. This is not a hardware issue as POE is the ONLY game I run in dx9 and that is simply because if I use DX11 there is ZERO sound. My sound card supports DX11 fully and works in every game perfectly. I was using DX11 in POE fine until Incursion landed. Last edited by Fonoi#5947 on Jan 28, 2019, 12:57:04 PM

Well i don't use neither XP (good OS), nor Vista (garbo OS) so it doesn't affect me and hopefully that means better optimization for the game, BUUUUUT dx9 without shadows afair atleast worked fine and then the whole dx11 thing in 3.0 made it crappier and then took quite a while to get on the same lvl as it was b4. Also every game should have an option to turn off shadows, like seriously. The amount of particles and screen cultter is crazy already anyway in POE. Give us a particle slider or something atleast!!!
Quit after Legion, rejoined PoE to see what the game's like now in 3.12. Last edited by Paldamus#1328 on Jan 28, 2019, 1:46:54 PM

" Nice; bashing without solid arguments while kissing ass while at it. For a developper with less funds it would make far more sense to actually keep the game running on the specs it was released on rather than constantly upgrading the requirements (as this involves adding new tech as explained and introduced in Delve). Besides with Tencent infesting in GGG more funds became available. GGG chose to spend those on more performance heavy content instead of optimising what they have first. This is a decision that might make the game more appealing to new players and keep older players with good setups hooked. For people with crappy setups (those with a live besides PoE, but not enough cash to buy a better pc) it simply means we could previously play the game but now we experience more and more problems running it. If you don't have this issue and can't come up with solid arguments against mine, keep your selfrighteous . to yourself. Thanks Last edited by DistantBliss#1333 on Jan 28, 2019, 1:56:29 PM

" k is short for 1,000. For example, 1 Kip = 1,000 pounds. 2K = 2,000. etc. With that, not sure why one would substitute a single '0' with a 'k'. One day, my ship will come. And with my luck, I'll be waiting at the airport! Last edited by Myrmidon3006#6605 on Jan 28, 2019, 2:10:44 PM

Linux support when?

If GGG is buying me a new PC I'm fine with it. Otherwise I have to quit playing just because of an old PC. Yeah...what happy news for me :(

" Aaaah, nooo! That's the same Frontier Developments did to us with 'Elite: dangerous' :/ My laptop runs 64bit, but my integrated graphics card - Intel HD 3000 - despite being powerful enough to run POE nicely and smoothly - doesn't support DX11 :/ come on, not another game... not like this!! |

No more bots YAHOOOOooo...

" PC has never been a cheap way to play games, for that you have consoles, simply plug and play. If you cannot keep your hardware even remotely up to date, you shouldn't be here since they ain't cutting support for recent tech, they are doing that with stuff that is nearly two decades old. No rest for the wicked. Last edited by Daiena#7638 on Jan 28, 2019, 3:34:39 PM

" I too noticed a significant loss (while running with vsync off, obviously), even to dx9ex with shadows - but as it seems for now it is still enough to keep vsync limiting. And I surprisingly noticed also that (now?) I can stay with real fullscreen even on dx11... and I also found only very minor performance differences between full and windowed full mode, under otherwise same conditions). Have to see how this will play in situations with more gpu load/effects/trouble (performance-wise) and when it gets darker (usability-wise)... invited by timer @ 10.12.2011
