[3.5] Occultist Vortex/Cold Snap ES/CI - Deathless and Safe Uber Elder and T16's

I had enough mana to use vortex [100+] and then I socketed gems into my hands [I have spider here] and boom not enough mana. Turned out, increased duration make spider reserve 34% mana instead of 24% :/ This reduces gem-setup possibility in my gear. Well, can be worked around.

I'm still a bit confused about the auras, what should strive for concerning those? Enfeble, chains, discipline? Enfeble, spider, discipline? What's the ideal setup?

Non Chaos to chaos might not be a good mod for this build. I also have it on my weapon but it only affects the initial hit damage of my vortex. At least according to the tooltip. I havent checked it in PoB.
Regarding curses. Discipline, aspect and enfeeble is my personal preference. Aspect hinders the movement speed and add up to 15% dmg together with less damage received from enfeeble. You can also go for temp chains instead of enfeeble but I do not like the overlapping of aspect and temp chains( movement can only be affected up to 75%) so you waste a bit here. Temp chains on the other hand also reduce the action speed of monsters. Which means their attacks are simply slower and less often. Well you might see that this is dealers choice and personal playstyle. Same as all the questions about unique body armour... I hope this might help you |

Finally finished this build. So far I was testing it in delve [450+] and this is exactly what I was looking for. Very tanky with good clear and nice damage. Great build.
Which map mods are hard for this occultist? I guess reflect ele is a no, maybe no regen too? Something else?

" I do no regen by unreserving half my mana and using cinderswallow. Ele reflect is possible but very slow by luring monsters into dot, I only do it if I’m running a tier 16 with very high quantity and want to run a scarab. |

How much ES did you all have before you switched to CI? I'm still upgrading my gear. I have 5600 ES atm. Still rocking a Tabula until I can 6 link my chest or just break down and buy one. So far I've been dying at least one time in each map that I run. I was wondering if switching to CI might help that, since a lot of the times it's my life pool and not ES that gets depleted. Some of it because I'm not high enough level to run Uber yet to get the no freeze/no chill. Thanks

If you had to replace the 6th link that's Swift Affliction with another blue skill what would you pick? I know bonechill on cold snap affects vortex too, but I really don't cold snap outside of bosses. So for now I have 6th link as Bonechill... but is there a better blue gem option?

If you have 5600 ES I would swap to CI. The problem you might have currently that poision, ignite etc will bypass your energy shield. When using CI all damage will be going to your ES.
But dont forget to work on flasks. Damage will prevent your shield from regen! Regards |

" get a skin of the loyal. no need to buy a high budget es chest. 50c and you're 6 linked with +1 gems (best dmg value for vortex period) i run a similar build to this (i cast on frostbolt tho, don't use EE, only EO, few other changes) and skin of the loyal is by far the best budget item for this build.
