I didn't see anything in the patch notes about fixing fortyb4five's laptop issues.
In Wraeclast, if someone tries to kill you... you just kill them right back.

Given that a part of the tree is changing, and everybody uses all parts of the same tree, it's only proper to totally reset everyone. If non-Duelists were somehow artificially barred from entering the Duelist starting area, it would be a different story, and only Duelists would require a reset.
Consider if a certain character is completely unaffected by the changes, but they would have entered the Duelist region had the tree been in 0.10.2 status prior.
Also, you can't just reset certain segments of builds, because depending on the new placement/usefulness of nodes, certain characters may have never even entered or approached the Duelist region, and how do you determine how many points were wasted getting to a point where you no longer aim to be? The routes/nodes taken even initially could be fundamentally changed in builds due to one changed point way down the line.
A full re-spec for all characters is the only choice where fairness is concerned.
Umm, remember this is still a beta, so basically, you play it at your own risk. Its like if they changed the price on a certain item, or a vendor recipe and you would ask for them to refund your in-game transactions just because if you knew about the change, you wouldnt have sold your items pre-patch.
I don't disagree with anything you've said (or the others who replied), and given what you said, why does anybody deserve a respec of any kind, going by your and other's logic in here? "Use and choose at your own risk."
Going by the logic of "reroll or live with it", nobody should get a respec if nodes/paths change in the tree, which I would be fine with. I love rerolling.
But as I said, with respect to fairness, either everybody gets a full respec or nobody gets any points reset. Whether or not fairness should be a major criteria in game decisions is a whole 'nother debate, and I don't deny that there are likely more important factors.
The question you put forward is simple to answer.
Nodes have disappeared, new nodes have appeared, nodes have changed.
We have already covered the reasons why people shouldn't get a respect if they are exactly as they were pre change. The people who will be affected and get a respec will actually have characters that have changed, if a node they took has changed, then their character has. Remember also, you can't just leave a gap in the skillgrimage where something was removed, the character's path has to be complete so do you 'force' a new passive on the character to link his nodes or do you simply give that character the choice?
It seems a no brainer to me, /shrug.
Casually casual.

Remember a change may also have a great impact on characters planned to go to/through the changed area.
Imho it's unfair that these characters has to be rerolled because that area of the tree they were going for has now changed.
If things are going to be fair all characters should get a skill reset otherwise it isn't fair at all.
I am aware that things in life isn't always fair and maybe GGG isn't going for fair and that's fine.
BUT if they are trying to be fair they have to reset all characters.

So, 1h 15m for patch right?
I'm in an abusive relationship with life. It keeps beating the hell out of me and I'm too cowardly to leave it.

That's a very thought through and sound argument you have there.
I guess I have to bow to you in defeat on that one.

It makes sense though. If you go hybrid from say, Ranger to Marauder, or the other way round, at the moment it's not very practical to go through Duelist but who's to say after the patch?
Therefore for many people they might have wanted to reconsider their build even if they don't currently use the duelist nodes.
Plus, those that are close to duelist can somehow take advantage of this info, and spend a few respec to get one affected duelist node and make sure they get a full respec...
