0.10.2 Patch Deployment Schedule
Providing there is no bug in the reset...
You will be reset, only if passives you had taken have been moved or changed. All Duelists will be reset. Some Maraurders might get reset (if down in duelists tree) Some expansive Templars might get reset (if down in duelists tree) OTHER than this. I think the only change that will affect this otherwise, is if you had taken Mana Flows. When the patch goes live, the tree on the website will be updated. You will be able to plan your build before you login. - It will only come though with the patch as it would confuse some players otherwise. Beta Member Since 0.9.0 | Current Character : ExExCorpse

Given that a part of the tree is changing, and everybody uses all parts of the same tree, it's only proper to totally reset everyone. If non-Duelists were somehow artificially barred from entering the Duelist starting area, it would be a different story, and only Duelists would require a reset.
Consider if a certain character is completely unaffected by the changes, but they would have entered the Duelist region had the tree been in 0.10.2 status prior. Also, you can't just reset certain segments of builds, because depending on the new placement/usefulness of nodes, certain characters may have never even entered or approached the Duelist region, and how do you determine how many points were wasted getting to a point where you no longer aim to be? The routes/nodes taken even initially could be fundamentally changed in builds due to one changed point way down the line. A full re-spec for all characters is the only choice where fairness is concerned. IGN: BigFerrousMetal Last edited by Directrix#6991 on Mar 7, 2013, 12:50:53 PM

This patch looks promising and I'm quite excited.
As for the tree reset, I think it's quite clear that if you have points on the affected nodes, you will get a skill reset. I hope some people would stop getting mad for not getting a reset when the description is quite clear. |

" ummm no. you just want to respec you witch for free this has nothing to do with fairness. Only those that use points in the duelist tree need to be reset. Since its only going to affect them. That is fair. |
|
" I don't have a witch. Assuming I did, yes, I would still want a reset, because depending on how nodes/paths are changed, I may have decided that it was worth taking the long adventure down to Blood Magic instead of taking Eldritch Battery to solve my mana problems as a Melee witch. That's just one hypothetical case of potentially thousands (or more). Again. Since all characters have access to all parts of the tree if they choose, any change to any part of the tree means you have to reset everyone, since all builds or potential builds are affected. This doesn't just affect Duelists because the points are closest to their starting point. It affects all characters. IGN: BigFerrousMetal Last edited by Directrix#6991 on Mar 7, 2013, 1:27:11 PM

" Umm, remember this is still a beta, so basically, you play it at your own risk. Its like if they changed the price on a certain item, or a vendor recipe and you would ask for them to refund your in-game transactions just because if you knew about the change, you wouldnt have sold your items pre-patch. |
|
" Not really, no. If a character had chosen nodes that have changed or were removed, yes. The thing is, in the example you gave, the character will not be worse off, they will be exactly the same as they were. Going by what you say, then any change to any passive, class or even item should result in a full wipe, as decisions made prior to the change may have been different. Casually casual.
