is that a weighted average?

That and keep in mind point values are completely arbitrary and made up. Just because some hideout deco is "worth" over 100 points doesn't mean you'll be happy when you get it lol

Oh, I never buy boxes myself : )
I don't like gambling...

Fuck loot boxes and fuck any system that supports them.

Agreed.

Many thanks to everyone who has purchased a Mystery Box at any point in time. They've become a huge driving force in our ability to continue to create frequent updates like Path of Exile: Betrayal!

Enjoy it while it's still legal. RNG gambling crates are one of the only things I sincerely hope the government regulates out of existence. Now that the FTC is involved, its only a matter of time.

LOL @ the kneejerk rage towards the thing that is currently trendy to hate on. Its only now years after lootboxes have been in game and not even the kind the rest of industry uses do all these sheep come out to graze. Would you like some more grass with that ignorance?

Tbh just because it's finally starting to get the attention it deserves doesn't mean people haven't been against it for a long time. A lot of the industry does has worse practices, and some have better practices - the 'others are even worse' defense is not a strong stance when there can be improvements. And personally I expect more from GGG than any other gaming company, which is why I used to throw money at them every league I play.

Haven't spent a penny in a while till I understand their current direction and I'm surprised there hasn't been any kind of official announcement on changes to monetisation or reasons for keeping the status quo (and I'm not just talking loot boxes..).

We don't need mindless shouting or name calling (from either side), we only need an honest conversation or explanation so everyone can continue to make their own adult choices...

It's also worth mentioning that any pure points purchases you make after Betrayal launched can be contributed to an upgrade for one of the new upcoming supporter packs.

New again? But you just released the Betrayal supporter packs. Why will you add new supporter packs already? They were just released before Delve ended.

Perhaps they are the long-awaited replacements for War for the Atlas packs.

If that's true, it makes sense because War of the Atlas had war of the atlas map series, but I guess the new supporter pack for the new atlas will be around a long time then. Right now my wallet can't afford any more supporter packs, still gotta buy the betrayal ones too.
Best way to discover colors for your loot filter

ok cool, but when will you release good mystery boxes?
I usually do not read popular posts again after i made a comment on it, unless it's one of my own. I wish to have a Black robed Grim Reaper micro set in game one day, grant my wish, GGG
The mystic stuff looks awsome! Defenitly on my watchlist, when that hit the store.

Nice music in the background to.

You know nothing about me, son. I've been involved in gaming since Pong and the Color Computer 2. People older (and more intelligent) than the lint in my pockets recognized how much these boxes sucked immediately and have been voicing our opinions against them since day 1. The fleecing of the gamer didn't start with gambling boxes but they are the straw that may have broken the camel's back. The climate is shifting against anti-consumerism in the gaming industry and the industry needs to adjust to it or face chapter 7.

These companies know exactly what they are doing when they manipulate people with this form of gambling. Lotteries, sweepstakes and casinos have been doing it forever. What they fail to see is the fact that the massive success of these gambling boxes prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that more people are far more likely to make purchases if the pricing is reasonable.

These things sell to certain people in huge quantities (those are the problem gamblers the crates prey upon) but they also sell ridiculous numbers of them to people who are OK with spending $3 a couple of times on the chance to get something rather than $32 on one thing. They prove that they make more money from large volumes of sales of lower priced "goods" than they make from whales willing to spend $250 for one set of cosmetic armor.

That doesn't mean people will line up to buy a hat for $10 but I would bet that a full set of well designed armor would sell like mad at that price. It would be interesting to see them offer a set that had mass appeal (not some shitty clown suit only attractive to a niche) at that price point as a test.

Once gambling boxes are banned, I'm hopeful that companies like TencentGGG make that connection and overhaul their shop with that fact in mind.
There are two types of POE players:
1) Those who want to walk uphill both ways barefoot on broken glass wearing a blindfold
2) F*cking noobs

I identify as transnational Chinese. May I have access to their QOL features, please?

They are nice. But i believe it's a mistake to make all three sets of a very similar color.
A green/ blue, a red and a dark alternative would have totally made me spend a lot.

I calls it like I sees it, also there is only shouting from your side, but I doubt you have the self reflection necessary to process that.

Also props on putting together a vaguely intellectual sounding post with random cookie cutter statements about the monetization issues currently in the spotlight. Minus points for pretending I say things you can tack your hamfisted attempt at 'lets all be adults' nonsense.

You are right, until you posted this textwall you were just a regular internet shouty man and that's all I knew about you. However, now I know that you are an opinionated manchild that is easily triggered.

You are also right that people FAR more intelligent than you are solving this issue currently because the people that must make all the money in the world overreached their grasp. However, you and a throng of likeminded simpletons are here on the forums shouting from the rooftops the same tired shit about the issue that can be found after 10 minutes of googling it. You are neither intelligent enough nor actually invested in discussing the issues with this specific monetization system for this specific game to actually add anything worth discussing. So keep pissing in the wind while more apt folk solve the issue you latched onto.
