Haven't found a six-link body armor that appeals to me yet. There may be some risk that I'll have enough Chaos orbs to buy a Shroud of the Lightless before I find something cheap to replace the Tabula Rasa with.

Well, sometimes this game can provide a pleasant surprise. I bit the bullet this afternoon and spent 20 Chaos on a rare six-link body armor, as I wanted to replace the Tabula Rasa, which has served me well so far, but has no defenses or other redeeming qualities apart from the six white links.

So, I crafted a bit more defensiveness onto the new body armor and wore it into the Jungle Valley, where just minutes ago some monster my minions killed dropped an Exalted orb.

I reckon that will suffice for the acquisition of a Shroud of the Lightless. I think I've seen some for sale for 50 to 60 chaos recently.

I suppose I can try to resell the armor I just bought for the same 20 Chaos. Maybe it's a lucky chest piece!

I did notice as I was leaving that that map had 91% quantity as a mod. That amount of quantity may have been what gave the chance for an Exalt to drop.

Definitely get an item filter that makes cool sounds when a good item drops. They will also show an icon on your map.

Got any suggestions for loot filters? I'm using Neversink's semi-strict filter at the moment. It makes impressive sounds when good stuff drops. I probably ought to install his strict filter now. Semi-strict still leaves a lot of junk showing on the ground.

I need to hit the sack, but I took time to download Neversink's latest filters and set the game to use his current strict one. I'm too tired to test it now.

By the way, I succeeded in clearing my first tier eight rare map this evening, Sepulchre, using Soulwrest and Shroud of the Lightless. Unfortunately, I had a really nasty prophecy that doubled the boss, so I had two Doedre's to contend with. She one-shotted me several times before I finally killed both of her! Fortunately, I was newly level 86, so didn't lose enough exp to make me swear. Well, not swear much, anyway.

Thanks for the amazing build guide. I have taken down Shaper and Red Elder and I'm looking to do my first ever Uber Elder. Any tips for this fight?

Also, my skeletons and phantasms on POB are only about 1/3 of the DPS from your example tree, and as far as I can see the only difference is that I don't have great jewels yet. Is this really enough to cause such a decrease? Let me know if I am missing something.

I'm not an experienced Uber Elder fighter with any build, and have never tried it with this one. My other build was similar though, and the steps were clear: Dodge first, place minions second. Fingers ready on flasks and movement skill.

Yes, the damage on your minions can vary a lot based on your jewels. The damage also goes down if you have not ticked frenzy and power charges, flesh offering, used a minion skill recently and elemental equilibrium. The jewels section of this guide has some rough estimates of the damage loss from good vs low rolls on jewels.
