How Atlas Objectives Work

I kinda dislike this system already, knowing how crappy is to get specific map out of drops.
Another forceful map trading :(
I represent only myself, my own thought and believes. I am individual, not a representative of the community.
I am not speaking on behalf of someone else and I don't get offended by things that have nothing to do with me.

3.13 was the golden age.
I truly don't understand people complaining about this just for playing just a day or two on a week. If you're playing only on Sundays, you're doing at most 1 daily at week per each master. And that's all, you have no choice to grind them faster. With this system, Masters can randomly spawn at the location you have just cleared, regardless of if you have already completed a mission for him today or not. That means you'll have more chances to grind new masters than what you have with the current ones.

Even if you don't have the specific map where a master spawns, you don't really need to trade for them, just do whatever maps you have and the master will eventually move. Depending on your clear speed, how many chances will you get for it to happen? 12 per hour? 20? 30? More than enough, in my opinion.

For me, it's not a really big change from what we have now. Having to put our own maps -just in case we can't/don't want to wait for them to move- is a downside, of course, but further than that, it will reward more active players with no loss for casuals.

Not hyped nor disappointed. Just meh.

Do the Atlas encounters only spawn on already unlocked maps?

Btw

What kind of currency(if they are) are Scarabs?
If they mean it literally it can be some kind of shit-roller-beetle like these things form egypt.
Masterpiece of 3.16 lore
"A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body."

Only usable with Ethanol Flasks

Just when you thought the Atlas was too complicated....
I've just re-checked it.
Reading Announcements when you are half asleep is a bad idea.

I thought that we will have this in addition to Daily missions (so there is a choice).
This replaces our dailies with rng?

Not cool, not cool :(
"War's over, soldier. You just don't know it yet. Everybody lost."
if you really need to check the market for maps because no guild and no friends, use a live search! if someone just posted a map, it is likely that it is still available and that they are willing to trade.

the list of items from the trade API can be minutes old and if you go for the ones on top of the list like everyone else, you won't get trades.
dachoppa... not every 1 has chaos to drop just to get master mission...

allso the fact that master missions are tied to atlas... well... that will drive prices up by lot.
Dailies gated behind rng. Like the map related rng wasn't bad enough already.

Thanks a lot.

I spent weeks trying to get an Atoll map this league to chase Shaper and get Elder to finally spawn, and that was with the benefit of Zana's shop.

I feel your pain. My bane was Thicket. I did get it, eventually, through the upgrade recipe while consolidating all the low level maps I'd accumulated but by that point I didn't really care.

This Atlas Objectives system is designed to reward both players who consistently play every day, but also players who just play a lot of Path of Exile.

And there you have it: the game just isn't designed around the casual player.
I like this new system. Pretty simple, but very well thought out.
