Announcing Private Leagues
I'm very worried this will lead to very desirable private leagues that everyone wants to get into, which will come with some steep costs (including real money and in-game tribute to certain gatekeeper players). The community might become further divided and trade might become tougher.
GGG seems to be rolling this out with small groups of players in mind, but the reality might be big popular private leagues with vastly different cultures at war with one another, with players being forced to choose which ones to pay to enter and the regular leagues being seen as trash. This is also the first time we'll be playing by different rules, rather than everyone being on the same level. I can imagine the community becoming pretty divided over rulesets and new definitions of what a "real" PoE player is. If any of that comes to pass I'm totally out. But hopefully I'm just being paranoid and none of it will. We're all in this leaky boat together, people. Last edited by demon9675#2961 on Nov 6, 2018, 3:41:12 AM

I was so hyped for a moment I couldnt read this and spammed all of my PoE friends with this fantastic opportunity to play a custom league in a group-ssf ruleset..
But then the reality hit me and I remembered Tencent, which made me read this thing thoroughly again and the conclusion.. Not interested. So freaking promising feature, but expecting us to pay for a group-ssf. I dont mind paying for my hobby, but I expect something in return and for the moment I dont see a return for my money just to be able to play on a group-ssf.. Thanks, good idea, not so good execution. |

Oh MY GOD !
I've been waiting for this for 6 years. It is absolutely amazing that you are finally going to try it. It could be all I ever wanted <3 Especially love the No Magic or Rare Items Drop & No Stashes mods! (but we definitely need BLAMT) That being said I really hope there will be an option in the future to extend private leagues indefinitely. We poor folks that were "hardcore" back in the day but have a job now and cannot play every day need some love. I would love to be able to play a private league at my own pace (/my friends pace) and make progress over the years. It would also help if there was an Option for only 4 Players but a little bit cheaper (so a single person is able to afford keeping up a private league if need be --> 10$ per month or so instead of 18 - like classic WoW?) This is going to be a massive money making machine for you in the future. I'm so happy you are giving it a go. It's so so good for all those streamers too <3 GL GGG! (oh btw: No, I don't want to play regular PoE anymore, I want oldschool-hard-and-slow-progress-PoE, where hitting walls because of lack of power and items while leveling and mapping (if you eventually get there) is the norm even for expert players) IGN PPPPanddddaPPPPanicccc still waiting for that 'Chris Wilson-director's cut' version oh wait, I finally got it. Thanks team! Last edited by Pr0p4g4nd4p4nd4#4330 on Nov 6, 2018, 5:18:38 AM

to be honest i fail to see the point. sure a higher level of challenge might be entertaining but as far as i can tell this is pandering to streamers. ugh. I don't play PUBG because of the streamers (Let me know you are streaming the game and watch me yell profanity and hate speech to ruin your stream). Honestly we need a flag for streamers so those who not interested can just add streamers to their ignore list.
If these were funded by guilds for guild members then that could be fun but that price.... Honestly I would not be willing to pay for a private league unless i got some form of benefit. Seems like a waste to me. If they have these hard difficulty mods then reward players who play in them with MTX points and list those containing streamers separately from those containing real people. That would make them attractive. |

honestly i would play poe as a paid service but frankly fuck private leagues. Just let me pay a premium subscruption and let me earn x MTX per map/delve encounter or whatever if i pay the monthly fee. 10-20usd sounds about right to me ad your can keep private leagues.
I also question how the currently crappy servers are going to handle yet more leagues. i can hear the processors melting from here. |

" I believe that You do not understand the simple truth that the days of the paid subscription games is numbered. There is currently only casual gamers since most of peoples have grown up already. The same peoples which was gaming crazy once before and become dissapointed from the rise of the P2W and subscription based games. If PoE go paid at some point the population will rapidly start decreasing, since just peoples like me - Free2Play rised this game. Last edited by ThorTX#4927 on Nov 6, 2018, 7:02:18 AM

" Oh i am not saying make it p2p i am just saying give people the option. u can play free to taply and i can play subscription. we can play together, same loot, same difficulty, no advantage but I get MTX after doing certain things. only difference and i would absolutely pay a subscription fee for it. there would be no change that could make it remotely pay to win based on that. Thank you so much for this GGG!
My brothers and I would play Diablo Iron Man in the 90's and have long since tried to replicate that experience in later titles, but it was never the same, and always felt 'hashed' with self enforced restrictions etc. Private Leagues lets us play our current obsession in true Iron Man mode and we are already excitedly planning and sorting our team and build synergies and ideas to give us the best chance possible of surviving deep into Wraeclast's wilderness. We have but the pack on our backs, the drink in our flasks and the orbs in our grasp, nothing more, nothing less. Next week, the three Silmarils will go fourth, our fate, unknown, but our fun certain. Long live GGG. Last edited by Lore84#2862 on Nov 6, 2018, 7:32:14 AM
