Question on cwdt-desecrate-spirit offering set up: wouldn't it take 2 procs of cwdt before spirit offering is triggered? In cases of one big hit, only desecrate is procced which doesn't do anything defensively. The guide currently reads like a single proc of cwdt will cast desecrate and spirit offering together.
I'm considering having just cwdt-spirit offering and self casting desecrate early for big packs.
Would also comment that I prefer fire goat spectres to frost sentinels since goats naturally have pierce and just feels better for clear.
Having a blast!
If they are linked cwdt cast everything in the order it is linked . So you get desecrate, and after that offering , all in one hit. There is some precedence depending on the gem location (top left is first , if I remember right)
The most important thing is for desecrate to be linked between cwdt and the offering. If the offering is first , you don’t get the desecrate before , this having no corpses. The tricky part is that in gameplay, we may have corpses available due to killing stuff, so people can think it’s working in any or their , but it’s using the “map” corpses and not the desecrate corpses.
If you need to check just get rid of every minion and walk through a pack (a lower level zone would be safer) and without cyclone game or damaging stuff see if it triggers
Thanks guys I thought it worked the same way as the craft 'trigger a socketed spell' where it alternates skills.
To be clear, you just need desecrate before spirit offering, working clockwise starting on the top-left. The positioning of CWDT in the link doesn't matter.
Just a quick question, i was thinking of when I have my 6L chest to add level 3/4 empower instead of concentrated effect seeing as spectre level is scaled off gem level instead.
since i suck at PoB i was wondering if anyone knew if that would be a better way to go about it
I finally dropped my unending hunger jewel, its added to socket under witch start, but really i cant see any improvement.. cant see any additional buff either?
Any ideas what can be wrong?
I have been considering this as well. One thought I had was if Phantasms (or zombies) are killing everything they would not stack a lot. And I have the impression Phantasms projectiles are quicker?
You might want to give a try to remove phantasms and do a blight to see if you can see them stack. I'll anyway not be investing another ex to get a new one. I already splurged on Grip of the council because I did not want to wait any longer :)
Great guide overall, a bit messy perhaps due to recent changes and lots of new ideas but still I learned a lot about summoner archtype just by reading this topic. Keep up the good work hercanic
I have a few questions/comments aswell. The triad grip full elemental conversion sounds like a great idea (especially with how expensive grip of the council currently is) but I agree that instead of 4 green sockets which contribute almost nothing to the build, we could use 4 blue and go full lightning with wrath, slave drivers etc. There would be damage loss from bonechill/hatred scaling yes, but wouldn't the extra minions and supports that we fit provide more overall damage?
Also if the 4 blue setup for triad works, what would be the ideal setup to trigger EE and frenzy charges? GMP with molten shell/ice spear or maybe still ball lightning with avatar of fire?
While leveling up, I've found that carrion golems are just plain amazing with feeding frenzy, neither spectres nor zombies can keep up with their clear/aoe capacity so I specced into extra golem and wasn't disappointed with the results. Do they get worse in maps/endgame (or maybe the other minions get way better)? Because right now I believe they deserve a setup of their own, rather than a single link meat shield / buffbot.
What is the consensus on melee spectres? I've played around with Colossal bonestalkers (to have better synergy with carrion golems physical buff) and they weren't bad with feeding frenzy but they weren't that good either. Is there any reason to use a melee spectre instead of a ranged elemental one?
After experimenting with the lightning conversion build for a little bit, I have to say that it's insanely strong and has the potential to be one of the highest dps minion builds this patch.
To proc both the Holy Relic regen, EE, and my curses, I've went to a wand set-up with Kinetic blast. I'm using Enfeeble and Conductivity (dropped ele weakness) because I needed a little more survivability.
After stalking some other people using a similar build on POE Ninja, the final piece of the puzzle seems to be Vis Mortis (https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Vis_Mortis). The chest gives minions 15-20% of all elemental damage as extra chaos damage. While the chaos damage wouldn't be amplified by curses, it's still very substantial when we're converting all of our minions' damage to lightning first.
POB doesn't really work for triad grips right now, but it's calculating around 170k dps for my skeletons, 175k for each spectre, 50k for each phantasm, and 50k for each zombie. If both EE and conductivity are active, that should be about double damage for each, or around 6.6 million dps without using vaal skeletons.

Spectres do not have to get the kill. However, they must be NEAR any kills, like ~40-60 units, to absorb the souls.

Hi there!
I was following your build development for some time and did some theorycrafting on my own with your build as a base. I've got really catched by your proposition to use hungry loop for a guardian. The item setup with kingmaker is really interesting. I though of using Galesight helmet for it, as it have a fixed 25% chance of inflicting Brittle status insted of chill/freeze, wich gives every hit on the target up to 10% BASE critical strike chance. Paired with kingmaker's 50% crit multi, our overall DPS on those targets may increase by quite an amount, also increasing the chance to gain elusive if we use Nightblade with our cyclone. The only thing that concerns me is inability to consistently generate power charges for our minions. Power charges will net us a lot of DPS from kingmaker buff. Culling strike on our hits may help a bit, but it's in no way a good solution to the problem.

using Galesight helmet for [Animated Guardian]
Neat idea, but Brittle scales off hit damage relative to target life. Guardian won't be hitting for much damage against bosses, and 25% chance with only Melee Splash area means limited and unreliable application during clear.

Power charges will net us a lot of DPS from kingmaker buff.
35% crit chance * 80% multi = 28% more damage.
Power Charge on Crit Support gives 12% more damage for 3 charges. 1.12 * 1.28 = 43% more damage. Not any better than other supports.
Power Charge on Kill isn't guaranteed against bosses, so the damage will only be a factor for clear. Good for Blight maps, though. Culling or degens would be our best bet. Could use 1 degen Spectre, like a Blight dog. You could also deal damage with a Chaos skill (e.g Soulrend CwC) and not have to worry about reflect (add flat ele damage via jewel to proc EE).
Alternatively, Assassin's Mark curse.

That is really interesting and I might give that a try. First, why KB? Second, why Aggressive Bastion?
Some cool tip, if you haven't thought of it yet, since we use the new "bone barrier" ascendancy and gain a cool new buff with only 3 seconds cooldown...
I'v actually changed one of my potion keybinds to that skill.
immune to bleeding, an extra shield that take away 70% of the dmg for 4+ seconds!?!
BEST POTION EVER!
1,2,3 bone armour!
This is a brillant idea, thank you. I was not even using it since it was so annoying to trigger. Now in the flask piano, it's perfect.
