Why first what you doing is going for second spectre? Which spectres you want to use from act 2?

I plan on doing the same. My take - It's not for the Spectres but for the minion damage and additional zombie/skeleton. I'm pathing to Cruel Preparation anyway, making it the closest minion damage wheel. And if leveling as a minion build, the extra minions help a lot.
Other option is going quicker for Ravenous Horde.

Would it be worth using a proximity shield spectre + meat shield support?

In a zombie/skeleton focussed build, very likely yes. In this one, where Spectres are used for clear and to create Phantasms, no. So it would be a different build completely. I think Ghazzy just released a Zombie build using those Spectres as support.

I notice in your leveling tree that right at the start you initially go via a bunch of (INT) travel nodes rather than through the minor minion/mana-ES node immediately adjacent to the witch start. I can see that this leads eventually to a shorter total path, but I was wondering if it would be reasonable to consider starting out through the minor node (probably the mana-ES side) and then respecing via the travel nodes later?

That is possible yes. But generally in the first half act, damage was not the problem. Any spell, or a 3link SRS, could get you to Act 2 smoothly as long as you had sufficient life. Considering that, taking the INT nodes has always made more sense to me. It gets you to the life nodes quicker, and get's you to the more efficient minion damage wheel (Death Attunement & Ravenous Horde) a bit quicker

With the changes to summon skeleton, and especially dead reckoning, can skeleton mages be worked into this build?.

In the current build, I'd advise against it. Goal of the skeletons is boss killing, you're not really using them for clear. Skeleton mages overlap a lot with Spectres and Phantasms.
Using them would be a different build. You could swap out Summon Phantasms for Summon Skeletons - they share support gems with Spectres but you would miss Single target damage. An other option would be to make link Skeleton Mages in the body Armour, and have Single target Spectres in the helm. Tukohama's Vanguard for example. But it would be a different build.

Hi guys. I would like to use spiders this league. I was thinking about spider + skeleton. Do you think it could work or should I try different minions with the spiders (specters for clearing? zombies for tanking?).

Check out "thoughts on dropping Herald of Agony" in the 3.8 Roundup post. This covers how to drop the Agony Crawler, which opens up our weapon slot. I have tested Arakaali's Fang, and it works great.

With Cyclone, it's very easy to immediately kill the Worms while staying in motion. You could even put Desecrate in CwC to always have corpses.

The only issue I had was that I personally didn't like having to keep glancing up at the spider counter, since spiders cannot be refreshed or replaced until they expire or you weapon swap to destroy them. The changes in 3.8 will bring with it a massive amount of minion duration, so maintaining the spiders should feel much better.

With the spiders also gaining Phasing, they should no longy delay or block Zombies and Skeletons when facing a boss.

Let's me see if I got it right (I'm not so expert with gem setup). I start at your current POB tree and make this changes:

* Weapon: Minion Damage | Melee of full life | Melee Splash OR Melee Pyshical Damage (Is whitering touch worth it?)
* Boots: Cyclone | CwC | Ball lightning | SRS or Desecrate

Cyclone with BL is for victarios charges and EE, right?

what do you tink of the new notable node "Enduring bond" (5 points to reach) for 31% increased minion duration (for spiders, skeletons and maybe SRS)

Edit: And why is Purifying flame in the build? For consacrate ground?

im playing this purely for the ender reference
Thanks for the great guide

If we want to try carrion golem where would one fit it, does it need links to do good damage by itself?

Are we still sticking with fire and ice spectres?

Thanks for posting the new tree.

In the skills section of PoB you showed Skeletons linked with MPD/Maim/Fortify. Is Fortify a placeholder for one of the new gems or is it intentional?

Btw, I played a Guardian Summoner several leagues ago and it was very strong, I'm thinking of adding elements from that build into yours. The skills will be Agony on a 6L with Specters on a 4L helm. I would like to fit in something like Zombies/Minion Life/Meat Shield but ran out of sockets.

I was thinking of using only one of the Proximity Shield bois... IIRC, their cooldown on it isn't that big for me to need multiple of them. If I link them with 21/20 Increased Duration, Their shield would last 14 seconds, and their cooldown is 18 seconds. I wonder if there's any ways of increasing even further his shield duration, but the 4 second downtime seems to be enough for me. Also this build utilizes way more than just spectres to deal damage, doesn't it?

What variation are you favoring so far of the three you listed on p123? Merits of each? #2, dropping HoA, seems interesting. I like the idea of dropping poison requirement and needing less dex.

Zombies, the one left active among all the set up options. It's less damage than HoA, but offers better defense. Spider/SRS is a way to make up the damage loss, but requires more maintenance for spiders and takes away recovery on hit and faster Frenzy generation for SRS.

In the end, it will come down to performance. I want to be able to Cyclone through a level while everything drops, and down a boss without the first few seconds of contact. That's the goal.

I think how good can be new poison skills for us? this skills has 40% chance to pison and flat chaos damage. We can also use fortify with them...

How we should leveling? i think to go first on right side of the tree to Ravenous Horde and then to templar. What you think ?

Maybe you can put 3 or 4 passive trees for leveling route?

Not enough added utility compared to Cyclone.

How we should leveling?

3.8 Roundup post should have what you're looking for now. Most of the original leveling guide is still valid. Just that we'll now skip Herald of Agony and Poison, and can get Feeding Frenzy @L31 in Act 3 after Siosa's quest.
Speaking about Spectre types, I seem to recall reading somewhere that we use Frost Sentinels plus one other type of spectre.

I don't remember if I read it in this guide or another guide. Can anyone confirm we only use Frost Sentinels.
Page 123 has been updated with more gem info for each slot.

Under the "I'm new to this build, just show me gem links and whatever else I need" drop down section.
