Ice Spear Rework

spell barrage, gonna nerf soon. At least now i can end game with frostbolt and ice spear maybe

Well that Version of ice spear looks a bit like a spellcaster version of barrage with a very good potential to actually burst down bosses when you have enought added and % increased dmg. I mean it still has that arming problem what makes it problematic to use on short range but overall i would say it has potential although i think it wont find a way into meta because there are better spells out there...
That been said: i could see my Spearthrower from Prophecy League to return on next patch we gonna have to see right?

So how is this going to work with Sire of Shards? Since the added projectiles shoot in sequence, is it going to make the projectiles shoot in a nova, in sequence, to the likes of Vaal Fireball?

It'll probably work the same way as Storm Burst, which is exactly as you said: It fires each projectile in nova sequence.

And commenting on the skill itself now, I'm a bit disappointed it pierces in the second phase because that means we can't try to chain or fork it instead. But the changes more than make up for that.

With this change to Ice Spear wherein additional projectiles no longer increase the spread much, AB may very well become the complementary clearing skill with it (Freezing Pulse expects investments into proj speed that Ice Spear has no use for, or expects you to be close to mobs). The sad thing about Arctic Breath currently is that it's used in CwDT setups a lot more than it is as a main skill, despite being designed a main skill.

im not sure it will work like storm burst. storm burst is a channeled skill where as this isn't. what happens if you cast once then run forward 20 steps then cast again, its going to cast to the side without you wanting it to and stuff? i dunno just seems like it shouldn't and wouldn't work that way.

i think it will bypass the nova portion completely
