" There is no way to make "trading" balanced with "finding". No one will ever want to buy an item, that drops often enough (for example, almost no one buys "scroll of wisdom" because they drop often enough for everyone). That's why drop rates for "good items" are so low in PoE - so market wont be instantly over-saturated with them. And when "trading" is allowed and game is balanced around it, expect that every sane player will get 95%+ upgrades with trading (usually - 99%). IGN: MortalKombat

" It's very simple - players sell their "old" items to others (or items, that are weaker than their own), or items that dont fit their build (there are decades of builds in PoE, so even if you find a worthy item, there is a huge chance that it will NOT fit YOUR build). If players buy their items considerably less than 90% of the time (let's say, 70%), then the game is actually a SSF one, and there is no real reason to allow trading or make any trading system. " It isnt a scam its how trading works and allows for grey areas like realizing you under-priced something etc. Have players taken advantage sure, but also a lot of cheap currency trades have already vanished, poe.trade has a delay. Poe has always had the ability to scam and the player has always had the ability to reject an offer right up to the last second. | |
" step 1 - use eyeballs. if unsure, see step 1.5 step 1.5 - are the cheapest listings not responding to you? step 2 - notice a lot of listings at a similar/same rate, grouped a bit under the cheapest? that's probably it. and it's here where you're likely to get quick/easy trades, so you should probably just start here and save yourself time. and apparently a crazy amount of stress, if you are or are like the OP step 3 - ???? step 4 - profit! and btw - the "seller" could have already sold whatever or went afk for a couple minutes. or ignored you. additionally, any items/currencies of the "seller" are the sellers. you're not entitled to anything just because you typed ctrl+v and enter.
