Yeah Indigon is definitely nice, but it is in no way required. Even if you take Meothaku and my own experience with the build out of the equation, Cyrix has stated on multiple occasions that he killed Uber Elder a few times pre-Indigon.

The builds that really get hit hard by Indigon are the ones that completely build around it. This build just has it as a 'cherry on top', so to speak.

And just to add to this, I actually prefer Vertex over Indigon for the build for the defenses and the +1 to gems. I had no trouble doing Uber Elder while wearing the Vertex (while also wearing Sin Trek boots btw).

Follow the tree in this build though and start to level this guides gems in your spare slots (2nd weapon, spare gear, etc.) so they're able to be used when you make the switch over to the Pens setup.

You think its worth respecing with 30ish regrets later on once I get both my pens, or should I start to follow this tree once the tree's stop overlapping.

You'll need to respec at some point anyway due to going from life to ES so you could try to do both changes at the same time - respec into ES from life and also start using the Pens at that time. It's hard to say at this point due to the possible increased rarity of the Pens. If you can, try to follow this guides tree but go life at the beginning. I don't think there's a posted leveling tree per se in this guide but if you've played before then you can just hit the normal life nodes - Enki's guide should hit those nodes as well. Once you begin and you have specific questions on where you should go in the tree, just ask in here and someone should be able to answer you.

Hi,

With the changes to CoC, I came up with following idea: Could this build use that CoC? Here is what I came up with:



I simply changed the Gloves to Shaper's Touch (for the Accuracy) and played a bit around with the tree. It results in 88% Hitchance with 76.65% (81.17% with Crit Corruption) Critchance on Frenzy with an average hit of Arc 228.856. That should add like 568K DPS if my equations aren't wrong.

Do you think it's viable?

What do you mean?
The POB using vertex on low life is the one linked in the OP for league build and there is no respec needed i'm pretty sure.

Btw if someone could do exactly that (a leveling tree) it would be very much appreciated.
I can do one if i get some basic instructions on what to get as nodes.
Exception made of the first few nodes i'm kinda filling my tree a bit randomly :/


On another note, what do you guys think about storm brand?
It does lightning damage and i'm wondering if we could incorporate it in the build :)

Yeah, as stated before this is viable if you do not run the Indigon. (or now that it got nerfed it might be that this equals out)
I am not quite sure why you have power siphon in there or those weird corruptions on your poet pens ^^. We do not go Occultist for the PowerCharge generation. We have PCoC on our poets pens.

Elementalist might seem tempting but I do not recommend it. Being unable to apply Curses to hexproof enemies makes another mapset hard to do and screws with some rares. (we depend on the manaleech from warlords marks)

Besides - Damage is *NOT* our problem. As such the ES boni from Occultist are just a lot better.

Profane Bloom also helps our clearspeed quite a bit - it feels noticable slower doing maps without it.

I think you might run into trouble without GMP on your frenzy. The arc will rarely be triggered like this since your poet-arc will clear up most things and your frenzy will not hit anything.

I understand your reasoning for Heartseeker (due to it benefiting frenzy as well) over Arcane Potency but I think its inefficient pathing.

What I mean is, when leveling, you often don't have optimal gear and need to take a few turns in the tree that you end up respecing out of later. For example, you may be short on dexterity or strength and pick up some of those nodes just temporarily. The same might be true depending on your gear for life before you make the jump to low life. You don't want to go low life before you have shavs for example which you can't wear until level 62. Prior to making that change, you may want to pick up a few life nodes that you'll end up respecing out of later once you start wearing the shavs, get Ghost Reaver, Pain Attunement, etc. That's when you can change those life nodes to more of the ES nodes.

That's just the quick ovewrite on your pens with useless stuff to see the base crit (should have taken new ones tbh). Power Siphon was just for the compare of critchance (until I realized that without frenzy, no frenzy. So junk too. ^^
