[3.3][Guide] Detailed Guide to Sustaining T16 Maps

Just a thought, could you add what build your running: the build's iiq, iir?

Not to be an ass, but if you're doing this with an iiq build, its misleading. You are inherently getting more returns than someone running without quantity, so any advice given on this post regarding sustain is relatively useless to non-iiq builds (due to the difference in what a player with quantity sees in returns compared to one without) if this is the case.

The tips provided can certainly be applied outside of an iiq build but your sustain will vary wildly depending on it, y/n? To what extent am I getting shafted by RNG if I run without iiq?

In other words: I want to sustain on any build I choose- does this guide do that with a variety of builds in your experience, or is this all coming from the viewpoint of an iiq character?
If you didn't beat Uber Sirus with Conversion Trap, you didn't beat the game.
Why do you say to run non-corrupted maps with Beyond?

Beyond monsters cannot drop maps and this is about sustaining maps, not gaining more experience. Shouldn't warlords be chosen because they can drop additional maps?
chisels, alchs, chaos for rolling and rerolling the map + vaaling + zana mods + fragments + adding and rerolling sextants.....

according to poe.ninja eleder ugs are @22.5 c....without actually doing the maths, seems like just buying the maps is cheaper and less of a hassle

Item quantity modifiers from your character's stats do not affect the drop rates of Maps. Only quantity from the map itself and from monster modifiers matters.

I will never understand this logic when rolling maps.

Investing more into maps does not only provide you with more maps. It will provide you with more EXP and way more loot including currency, high tier uniques, desirable divination cards and more. You will oversustain your total currency by a lot if you're somewhat efficient about it.

I've been running quite a lot of T16 eldered Lairs this league and I make ~40c profit on average per map. My character doesn't use any IIQ/IIR and the last time I played in a party was during Breach.

I've found that Beyond gives me the best yield for good ilvl 84/85 bases, which sell extremely well. Warbands is better for map sustain; I'll edit that in.

IIQ/IIR does not affect map drops.

Does this include gear and other items you pick up and then sell, or mostly currency drops?

Kind of a pain to rely on selling stuff, because much less go out than you pick up of potential value, and you waste time trying to sell it. Worse when farming uber lab when you can't portal back to the hideout.

Excellent guide btw, and I'll try to keep this stuff in mind when/if I get far enough into the Atlas to try to sustain high-end red tier maps.

This includes selling low to mid tier items because these items are very consistant. Abyss Sextants for Searching Eye Jewels are very common. Things like a shaped ilvl 85 Opal Ring for 7ex or when I craft a bunch of Stygian Vise Belts that sell for 1-10ex are not included.

So assuming you chisel your maps and roll them+sextants

You find a t16, 4 chisels, an alchemy, 2 chaos, 3ish sextans, AND 40c worth of stuff on top of that on average every single map? Assuming maps take you maybe 5 minutes to run, you're making like 6ex/hour, and probably the wealthiest player in the game.
