Super Slow Mo! (No uniques required! Made for new, physically challenged, & SSF gamers.)(3.3)

I think it is 1.8 for both of those, and the 0.2 sec is the boost to dmg if you use a skil during the effect?
my friend lended me a montregroul's grasp and i'm having fun having only 5 zombies slap the living shit out of everything with slam.

currently lvl 80. only have like 3800 health, with 925 energy shield so oh boy... i get oneshot randomly time to time.
I added a Pure Health version of this build for those that don't care about the "slow" factor...pffffft.

Hey Triniparty. It's a real shame that SRS is in such a bad spot right now, and had to be jettisoned.

I was fooling around with a duelist champion SRS build and noticed that in elder boots with pseudo linked spell totem, faster totem placement speed and even fortify, you can run an srs or skellie totem to apply chill/blind that doesn't take too much time to cast, and adds a noticable chunk to your single target dps, plus gives you great projectile blocking.

I also tried adding in knockback via a ball lightning + GMP + knockback + blind self cast, and found that the knockback on mobs also has a noticable effect on defence.

I'm wondering if you tried knockback, and have any thoughts on it, or the spell totem option?

Thanks for the comment! I haven't really done much on knockback. Sorry. I've seen that it can be very effective though! Knockback is awesome for clearing and staying alive (hardcore) but isn't that beneficial for bosses. Many bosses are immune to knockback. But that shouldn't be a deterrent to using it, bosses are immune/highly resistant to many things (like my curses). The Duration minion skills are awesome on Spell Totem as well. They are great for simply casting and then surviving...keeping your playstyle more defensive than offensive. Totems can be costly mana wise; so because I'm such an aura/blasphemy freak, they only work for my preferences for so long (until my auras reserve all my mana).

Both options are really good and highly used with efficient builds too! Good job discovering them! The thing with POE is the game punishes builds that to "too much". After we pick our damage and health areas on the tree, we'll have very little left for options. Most people just pick more health. The game's design is that ideas need big investment. I'm just too in love with curses and slowing enemies that I haven't bothered with anything else. (That and my physical limitations guide some of my skill selections...).

Obviously feel free to implement those ideas any way you like! The more the build is yours, the better! If you go with the spell totems, keep an eye on how often you need to place the totem. It may be beneficial to invest in skill duration nodes, or pick different ascendancy nodes. Maybe not though. Depends on how you play. One interesting thing to consider is to select Ancestral Bond. You'd then have Zombies, a totem for SRS, and a totem for Skeletons...and don't forget Vaal Skeletons if you can...

Of course all new ideas require sacrificing something you don't want to...so let me know what you do!

I hope that helped. Let me know if you have any other questions too.

I still really like SRS. I just found that Zombies let me play longer stretches of the game. Zombies vs. SRS have their own list of Pros and Cons but I didn't ditch SRS because one was better than the other in the game. I did it for symptom reasons. I still go back and play SRS on the console in Standard...good stuff. The new Ascendancy nodes for Necromancer make it really easy to reach the maximum # of SRS as well which is nice.

Thanks for the reply :)

For fun, I also tried replacing all cwdt setups with movement skills in another build. You flame dash, lightning warp, bodyswap all over the place. I'm wondering if this might be a legitimate form of defence with enemeies too slow to follow you...

Ha ha. CwDT+Movement SKills are a lot of fun. But you have to have great defense. You'll be casted into danger as often as you are out of danger. I think it'd be more viable with a build like Righteous Fire and Lightning Warp. Righteous Fire is always on and Lightning Warp does a similar sized AOE which is natural for Elemental Equilibrium. To do a movement skill+CwDT with Zombies wouldn't be as efficient as other main skills cause, I'm sure you've noticed, Zombies sometimes need some prodding to start combat/initiate combat. So you could be in harm's way for a while before killing enemies kicks in.

Try it out though. A big part of future build planning is already having experience with a good amount of time with different combinations in combat.

For people with wooden pc (like me) that cant really use movement skill a great defensive option on the life build is to put the vigil jewel in the slot between mara and scion. That plus vigilant strike (cant be evaded) plus fortify gives a 30+ second fortify buff for both you and your minions :D
