I think 2, but more heavily focused on bosses giving more XP, then mobs.

@OP - if you rage this hard over xp loss, you might want to avoid whole genres of games since they are a standard for a reason.
The last mmo I came from as veterans left from dissatisfaction, only newer players took their place. The problem was that they couldn't do the basics to get through the easiest challenges for group content. You see, there is a problem when you make things too easy. While PoE isn't reliant on group content, it still has an end game. When you have more people reaching end game that shouldn't, you tend to have more leechers and beggars. You also tend to have a lot more incompetent players, so for those who do group for certain aspects of poe, they'd feel that impact as well. But really, that was quite the wall of rage text and all it really did was show immaturity and maybe a bit of racism. For anyone who's ever played PoE, every single player has had reason to be upset for one thing or another. Yep, totally over league play.

Remove, no. But with all of the XP Penalties and instability of servers, I wouldn't mind a decrease.

Loosing exp is like sacrificing real life time for nothing. It kills my will to play PoE more then anything else.

Don't cry because ggg won't babysit you. If there was no exp loss you could get lvl 100 with the starting gear if you had enough time, just die and come back who cares.

It has to stay. Without punishment it is boring.
But they should fix the way to 100. The people going to 100 atm are just going the easy way (no hard map roles, skipping bosses/ hard mobs and log out makro). This has to be more a competition. And they finally think about a solution against fucking log out makros. Perhaps a penalty on disconects, people with bad connections would be punished aswell but there comes no better idea ot my mind how to adress this huge problem. |

It's hard when technical problems (disconnect/lag)cause the XP-loss.
Also I only fight bosses after I made level up to prevent it. Sometimes I even skip map bosses because of that, especially after level 85. After 90 I don't care anymore and start finishing challenges. Because I know 100 is not realistic for me. I would prefer at least in boss fights no EXP-loss. -> Maybe it could also this way: Die because of a(n)... Normal mob -10% Magic mob -8% Rare mob -6% Unique mob -4% Corrupted mob -3% Unique boss -2% Corrupted unique boss -1% (or some thing in this direction) -> Or/and add an Orb: You can use to get your XP-loss back, or can use it in the map device to gain more XP. -> Or/and fight in the blood altar to get your XP back.(Just possible if bestiary exist further) |
