[3.9] Pure Phys Skeletons & Friends Necromancer — Beginner/SSF/Budget Build
A Loreweave can let us ditch Ahn's Heritage's +3% maximum resistance for more damage by dual wielding wands. Overall less of a glass cannon than simply dual wielding without the 78% resistances, especially chaos for this league's funsies. Bonus if there's a +1 gem level corruption to boost the awakened gems too. The Helmet can share the duty of running +1 skeletons. Overall pretty tanky but still hits like a truck. With Vaal Skeletons, bosses skip stages and the fight becomes even safer.
" I don't 100% know, since I never tried the Feeding Frenzy skeleton version in maps, but I zoom along at a fast clip, constantly summoning new skeletons on each pack... Skeletons still get half the benefit of Feeding Frenzy from Carrion Golem buff procs...
" No shield charge/faster attacks? I cant live without that if im using a shield, haha. Do you just walk through maps? How much damage does summon carrion golem really give? Most pobs i see he gives like 13k dps to skeletons doing like 700k+damage, doesnt seem worth the gem slots, unless im missing something. Last edited by queebl on Jan 9, 2020, 12:30:31 PM

" I don't have much hard data to talk with, but just turning off the gem in POB drops the numbers 20%, so it's a 25% increase there... and I also thought half the value was in being able to clear things offscreen with it's attacks, and having 2 of them... You probably feel it even more, if you've removed Feeding Frenzy from Skeletons, since Carrion Golem is providing 2 buffs now, instead of just the one...
yeah im mainly referring to Coaa, he only has one, and no golem buff effect nodes. not sure its worth a 4 link purely for the carrion golem when doing that. Last edited by queebl on Jan 9, 2020, 12:48:13 PM

Feeding Frenzy on the skeletons doesn't matter, the Golems provide the full benefit, the skeletons are already agresive honestly, and they receive all the damaage as long as you get the buff from the Golems. Having the FF gem on the skeltons just makes them give YOU the buff so you can give it to eveyrthing else.
I clear t16 corrupted maps in 4 minutes and hionestly it could be faster if I wasnt such a wuss, I play vvery cautiously because I fear of dying when Im close to level. Last edited by idkwat on Jan 9, 2020, 1:39:02 PM

A couple quick questions for the group:
1. Any reason at all to not slot Animate Guardian with Zombies and removing the Fortify Gem? Obviously Kingmaker is the goal but it seems like even with cheap items he will never die. Belly of the beast as a chestpiece alone gives 40% to life and 15% to all resist and I've never came close to losing him. 2. Are the +1 Skeletons always the best crafting option when it comes to modifiers? I am asking because I was looking at an option for a 6 slotted armor with multiple % life modifiers. 3. Has anyone done the math if it is ever worth it to get the 2 socket abysal belt that gives a 50% to socketed jewels but loses out on the other modifiers that the one socket belt provides? " What else would you put in there instead? I suppose you could skip brutality on the zombies and give them feeding frenzy and get rid of the golems all together, but what could you possibly put in there? More defense?
is grave intentions anoint worth getting if you cant get indomitable army yet?

" TBH I had it left over from the main build when I switched over. It does still offer some flat phys but not anything crazy. I am planning on switching feeding frenzy on it tonight to curse on hit and brutality to vulnerability. I wont have to recolor the helm at all and this will still buff my minions a bit while also offering a sizeable dps boost on bosses. I had it planned out to try it out tonight. I'm also considering swapping skitter to pride for another big boost but i'm afraid my mana for skele spam will suck without finding another gem to drop to enlighten 3-4 pride. We'll see, I still have some playing around to do personally. If you didn't want to do that, I could absolutely see swapping some stuff around to throw in shield charge. I personally just run through maps with quicksilver. I find i'm casting skeles and offering so much that for me personally charging would be annoying. In lower tier maps I think it would be amazing, just at the point i'm at i'm only running Juiced T15+s which go a bit slower anyway. Rumi's with the shield and amount of phys reduction you get on top has made T15+s SO MUCH better for me though. When my flasks are up nothing chunks me at all. It's so big. |
