it's silly to punish players for ggg's stupid mistake.

then again, ggg banned people in legacy league over the leaguestone exploit, which... was rather similar.

You're fucking over everyone that didn't abuse it, nice job GGG.

There's a common misconception in the community that our balance team doesn't play Path of Exile. They actually do play it, a whole lot. We have people with level 100 hardcore characters, multiple famous community members who have come to work for us and you may not even know it. The minimum requirement to join our QA team is 1000 hours of PoE experience, and we still turn people with that prerequisite away if they're not good enough at the game. Our design, balance and QA team are experts at Path of Exile.
GGG scrambling to get ascendancy changes out literally the day before league drops, who could have guessed there would be massive gamebreaking bugs in the league to? Obscure bugs are one thing, but to have something so gamebreaking yet so obvious make it to live is actually stunning from GGG. Keep going down that quantity over quality path GGG..see how much longer we support you.
I will have to take some serious thoughts about spending more money on this game. I continue this league after all, but, probably won't spend any more money. Not in the near future anyway.

I am having a lot of fun this league, GGG; keep up the great work.

Thanks for everything you do. Pessimists are unfortunately often the most vocal, but there are a TON of us who appreciate it even with a few mistakes. It's awesome that you take action to fix them so fast. I can't imagine how much code there's got to be to keep track of in a game this complex.

Still my favorite game ever made.

It's all good in a shitstorm until you get hit in by a juicy quarter pounder. Pretend all you want as if everything is fine and we, the people in the real world, will make it better one step at a time little peon.
this thread explains very well just how fucked up the poe community is:

1) many of you want to ban people for using something existing in the game, like they were supposed to "know its not appropriate to exploit the game like that". well it doesnt break the tos so fuck you commies, if its in the game it can only be ggg's mistake and they have no right to ban anyone for exploiting it

2) deleting items wont solve anything either because the rich have already sold most of the duped items, if they delete them, they will hurt the people who actually paid fairly for them

3) rollback will just reset an already tedious league and people who found really gg stuff like mirrors and such will literally quit forever

the best solution is to just let this shit slide, patch the game and try not to fuck up this badly next time. the whole duping scandal can only do you good anyway because you can buy things much cheaper now
wtf you should rollback to the first day!
Just some food for thought on a potential solution that I have not seen proposed quite yet...

Solution:
Create a new Bestiary league (2.0) that runs side-by-side to the original Bestiary league (1.0). Set the league end dates equal to each other (preference given to 2.0 having the standard league length and 1.0 being a bit longer than 2.0... but ending on same date).

PROS:
This gives the community options: scrap your time played & items found for a fresh start or tough it out in the original 1.0 league. I've seen posts where longstanding PoE players have finally found their once in a lifetime item... Would be heartbroken for them if it was all rolled back or purged.

CONS:
Primarily GGG Technical Resources (servers, setup, etc). There's also potential that friends might make different decisions and become unable to play with each other until next league.
