The only way I could agree with netting corpses would be if they could only be used on creatures that were already captured, but only usable by people who were in the party at the time the beast was captured but couldn't join in on the capture for whatever reason. So if my mates are fighting a red, but I (died/ got distracted/portalled out to sell loot/ was on the other side of the map/ was focusing on killing the adds)) and my party captured the red, I could get the red for my bestiary.

I would rather have a 3 second 'exhausted' period when you've taken the special mobs health down to 0 where it stops moving and attacking which will allow you to net it.
Or just allow the player to net the mob at the beginning of the fight and once it dies it gets captured, I mention this because with some mobs and the amount of adds they spawn (can't even target the boss to net it) and how many mods they have on them (so much regen even if you do land up netting it, if you drop dps there is no way you'll get it back down to the health it was on before you tried to net it). The reason why I like this mixup is exactly because it is a mixup. Capturing dead beasts feels like essence league. Trying to capture it feels like something NEW. Sure it isn't for everyone, and maybe that's the biggest fault of the league. I would much rather it keep its spirit (with improvements to it obviously, things are way too clunky atm) than become just another loot after kill mechanic. At the end of the day, there is trading and I believe that not everything should be for everyone. This expansion hints at truly different ways of play forced by mechanics and not by players gimping themselves to make their own fun. |

I don't like the idea of a net that works on a dead creature. It rewards the clear speed bois more than their IIQ-minded gameplay already does. They can speed through the map, take note of where the juiciest mobs died, and come back to deal with them later.
That said, I'm not sure the current three-second net mechanic is working great either. Fully stunning a dangerous mob for three seconds is probably much too easy. And there's an imbalance in how things play out for certain builds (Slayer cull, DoTs, etc.) -- some builds just have it easier where mob capture is concerned. What might be better is if the nets acted less like literal nets but as a way to mark mobs for capture. This would leave them standing to fight and be dangerous, but it'd make it such that they can't die (or be culled). Mark, fight, capture. The marks given by the nets can have a duration that expires based on whatever factors are deemed appropriate -- the health at which they're marked, the potency of the net used, and the like. When marked for capture they can have an icon floating over their head to make it obvious that it's worked -- and also let you know when the mark has expired. As I was writing all that, I had a second thought. I suppose a dead-capture net wouldn't be *too* bad if it were very expensive. That way even normal players could have it as a backup in case they eff up a capture they really needed, but it couldn't be relied upon due to the expense involved. https://redd.it/p0hyul

" Lol huh? Its pretty clear the minority is the no. I don't understand why it will be less people when its so easy to reach end game and after the hotfix of net. Adding capturing dead beasts gives more currency to people who can just clear maps without even moving their god damn elbow. "Hate to disappoint you, but even if it doesn't get implemented it won't kill clearspeed - they'll continue to clear maps in 2 minutes and ignore the mechanic because ultimately it's about clearing even faster via better equipment from the beasts. It only really impacts challenge completionists, who will jump through hoops anyway so it doesn't affect them either. |
