Boss Fight Reveal: Vilenta

What is this? Did GGG really use worthwhile flasks on their character? Where am I? Is this heaven?

Oh, come on guys, you overreacting. In reality you will fight this thing max 2 or 3 times, depending on how many characters you will create during the league. Of course, it will probably goes to maps and everybody will skip it, just like everybody skips this scorpion like thing, Shakira, or what, I even don’t remember the name (fought it precisely 3 times, 2 with new char and once on map). You should be happy instead of whining – look how many human resources GGG has! They just can afford to spend time and money to create so many useless things :)
Why are you people complaining so much about this?

In A10, you will either skip it if it doesn't give a skill point, or you will just come over-leveled if you can't beat it.

In the maps you will maybe do it once for completion, and that's it.

If the devs are happy using time and resources making boss fights that the majority will skip, let them. After all we know that they have a "vision" and they will folow it no matter how much we bitch.

easy. no map drops from regular monsters in maps. they can only drop from bosses (in the same quantity as an entire map based on how much you cleared).
You can give me all the Desert Spring maps, I'm having lots of fun bullying the scorpion boss and watch it jump around!

Anyway, the fight has the cool factor, but it's overwhelmed, yes you guessed it, the 'godmode' phase where you can't damage or hit the boss.

Rather than make the boss invulnerable, maybe give it a shield which;
- Reduce all incoming damage by 50-75% (So you can still do damage but it's not as effective)
- breaks after X amount of adds killed, like counter-active Soul Eater

This way you can keep the precious frenzy/endurance/power charges going, get flasks filled since there's adds to kill AND feel like you CAN do something rather than waiting the boss come out of the phase.

Just a quick suggestion that came to mind and it could be done many bosses who have phases in their fights.

I'll be most likely skipping the whole catching part except some of the challenges, if I can remember them. Not much of pokemon collector and keeping a zoo myself.

Most of us are still waiting for the biggest effective part of the patch still, the rest of the Ascendencies. Still feeling they are tweaking the degen number for Berserker. It's just...way too high for what it gives.

Looks cool, but another phased fight? Meeeeh it's like GGG is trying to do 2 things at once, have a meta where speedclearing is the way to go, but at the same time create bosses that are slow and annoying af. You should either have speedclear and pre 3.0 ezmode bosses OR no speedclear + these slow phased bosses. This just feels wonky man...

This will never happen due to MF rules and huge disparity between bosses and monsters on map. How do you want to do it? Characters with good clearspeed can clean map really fast, even with bisco and other MF stuff. Then what? Replace MF equipment with “shaper-killer” stuff and benefit from MF used due map clearing? Or clear map even faster with high end equipment end do bosskilling with bisco etc.? Of course to encourage players to fight bosses GGG could buff quality of they drop, but with such solution there will be only max 10 maps of 157. Shaped Vault, spider forest, 4 T16 guardian maps (to get access to shaper), shaped burial chambers, Poorjoys Asylum (for exp) and shaped T16 beach/strand (for exp either). That’s it. But as I wrote before, GGG has plenty of stuff, so no problem with 147 maps, nobody will care :)
Soo much hatred....

But I have to agree to a point. I don't mind phased boss fights, aslong as it isn't reacouring phases.

Dominus was wellmade, so was Shaper and Elder.
Elder guardians phases was decent, yet abit annoying imo.

But boss fights like Shakari, Atziri and now Vilenta feels more of a chore than enjoyment.

Well, that's a bit over the top from what I was thinking xD

Maybe each map boss killed could earn "souls" or something (unaffected by MF etc.) that can be spent on higher tiers of currency.... or something actually good?

Higher tier maps earn more souls.

This Boss in Act 10: ok, one fight and done.

This Boss in maps: no way. Unnecessary phases and annoying delays of flying across the screen.

Act 10 didn't need another boss, and those who grind maps at end game sure don't want this boss added in the future (it will happens since all bosses end up in maps later).
