You don't have to be rude. I told ya here that I got freaking holidays till new year, if you can't respect that then it's your problem. I told that with good gear and setup you will hit 600k+ for both magma balls and infernal blow in PoB as Total Damage. You don't need PoB link for that. Creating PoB link takes time, need to create jewellery etc, I prefered to make a short guide instead because I hate when ppl create guide with just freaking PoB link, nothing more. I'm trying to enjoy my last two days, before going to work again and play a game a little bit instead of doing numbers for the science. Peace.

I think I already said that, you can try to get Impresence with fire theme (it's also linked in the guide), so you will get free flammability aura, some new defensive aura after killing rare enemy etc It's decent. If it's too expensive then try to get rare with stats priorities: flat pdmg/life/crit multi/ele weapon dmg/flat fire dmg.

@ArkanePanda is right, I said that already, we want to scale MS not IB because IB damage for map clear is way more than enough, so we pruely focus on MS Magma Balls not MS Melee Hit. Having said that, any investment in 'Critical Strike Multiplier' tagged with 'Melee' prefix will be kind of wasted. You should look for one tagged with 'Global' or 'Fire' prefix (since we deal only fire damage).

Ok, I made a draft PoB based on my character, I just modified stats on jewellery and jewels (some are perfect, so you won't probably get that, it does not matter), and perfect Watcher's Eye for our build. Just for the sake of knowing what we can achieve.

With that setup you get following DPS for IB:



It's much higher than I assumed, 1.2mln.

MS:



766k per MS ball x 36 (balls with enchant) = 27mln

Now, just don't ask immediately why this and why that, it requires tweaking, checking what's optimal, maybe jewels with crit multi are more optimal than flat dmg, it takes time to check that.

One more note, check configuration tab, I checked flask, lucky (crit), maim, ash (from Xoph's Blood), intimidate (gloves), frenzy charges, always full life and of course 'Her Embrace' (OG sword).

EDIT IMPORTANT: For some reason, PoB does not save Watcher's Eye settings properly, I chose 'Fire Penetration while affected by Anger' and 'Gain % of Physical Damage as Extra Fire Damage'. Once I try to open it again it reverts extra damage to '33% of Physical Damage converted to Lightning Damage' dunno why, so make sure to change that manually after importing PoB link to see the same numbers as on above screens.

If you by any accident turn on my twitch channel (which btw is in much worse state than this guide - simple excuse is that I got literally no time), don't be suprised I'm playing a witch necro, that's because it was my first character in the league and I wanted to get back to it and respec to build I planned as well, especially seeing that one of the HC streams verified it's actually working, hats off to him ;) I did not abandon this duelist character at all, it's too much fun, I plan to level it up to 97 at least.

So I've been trying to make sort of a different build, like Mathil has based on crit, but I feel like I'm missing some kind of punch with it. I don't have the best gear ever and I'm pretty sure I'm missing some pieces like possibly amulet and both rings not giving me the best damage ever.

Do you reckon that following your build and also Mathil's tree or possibly changing some nodes in on my skill tree and some conversion based on yours but only using IB as a source of damage (changing between AC and Ruthless for bosses), I would be able to get some more damage out of this build? If you don't mind checking my character whenever you find the time, would also be much appreciated and where to go from here (around 2ex budget) (:

I can just say that you will never achieve the same ST dps as MS has, by any means. You can even stack ton of crit and you will be nowhere there. Look at the numbers, MS also gives you much better life steal sustain, take a look at enchant prices and people doing uber atziri with MS. It's like 10 levels ahead of IB and any other melee skill (maybe except BF that always shined with ST). So you need to answer on your own, this is mainly the reason why my guide utilizes two skills instead of just IB. Both have fire theme, both can have 100% fire conversion, two 6L swords are cheap, it was natural decision to make that work.

Fair enough, I've thought about it and after reading what you said, I will make some changes to accommodate using MS and won't have to make that many changes to my passives tree.

Right now, I'm running AW on a 5L Belly. Would you change anything with this or would you just drop AW and recommend me to run your chest setup? No intentions on changing to a 6L for now.
AW make sense, unless you're having Avatar of Fire either from Xoph's Blood or passvie tree. That's because it converts 50% of any kind of damage to fire and most importantly Deal no Non-Fire Damage which would be a waste, because you will not be able to convert all AW damage to fire. This is the reason I'm not running AW with my 100% (AoF from Xoph's Blood) setup. I prefer AP to give me 20% more attack speed, buffing my MS tremendously as well.

You could do both world by wearing Watcher's Eye that converts 40% to fire damage while having Anger aura. I mentioned that in the guide, you would end up with 90% conversion (almost 100%), without any AoF drawback. You could then even run Hatred aura. However, that would be a different apporach with multiple elements, I'm focusing on having just one element (fire) that can be easily scaled with only physical damage and fire penetration.

Had a look at GMP for even more ball goodness? Might be a viable option. Let me know if I'm way off though.
You don't need that since Wildfire jewels were introduced in the game. GMP will lower your dps significantly, 26% less damage at level 20. Additionally, endgame goal is to have +3 additional ms projectiles enchant on helmet. With that setup you will have 10 balls + 2 balls from dying sun = 12 balls.

hello @ojejku. Currently level 46 with your build and loviing it! so easy to level with molten strike. One question, I have a Belly of the beast, is it good with this build? i dont have money to buy a good rare armour.
