Do you have to run Shield Charge to proc EE or is it possible to go with Whirling Blades?

Can of course also be done with Whirling Blades, but I think the area is smaller where you actually hit enemies. But well, usually you wanna proc EE on the big guys with your Ball Lightning as you also put 2 curses on them at the same time.

How important is really +2 level for the flame golems?

looking at https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Summon_Flame_Golem it looks like flame golems get very little damage from levels, more hp sure, but they are not very hard to resummon.

Well, for us it is "only" around 20% more damage between Level 21 Flame Golem and Level 23 Flame Golem. So while I would not call that "very little" it is not as important as conc. effect and minion damage.

Maybe you looked in the wrong tab? Don't use the "Gem level progression" tab.

Scroll down to "Monster stats", that is the base damage of our Golems that then gets scaled by all our support gems, passive nodes and the internal skill modifiers of the 2 different golem skills. That is the reason why even a little higher base damage will result in a huge difference in how much damage they actually deal.

There is a reason why Golemancers aim for level 27+ Golems with +2 all gems chests and empower 4. Not many skills scale this extreme with levels.

Level 21: 684–1710 (1197 avg.)

Level 23: 834–2085 (1459.5 avg)

Level 27: 1233-3082 (2157.5 avg)

And the only time you might have to resummon your golems, even if you only have them at level 20 is when Shaper or Minotaur kills them, they are pretty much invincible otherwise.

Totally true, my bad.
Man you need to post some video up. Im struggling deciding wehat kind of spectre build i wanna do. Its my first specter and im clueless has to what im doing. Been playing forever, still this is like a new game now.

Would love to see some vids. I play in hc though, you think your take on specter is good enough for that?
Hey. Looks awesome :p guess i'm gonna start this build. U have a basic idea of what this build costs with good gear? Like all the golem jewels, helm and 6link armour etc... Just a rough guess would do it.

If u have some time to spare could u add a bit to the lvling section? Like recommended lvl gear, sunder links and other lvling skills u use and when/how to transition into spectres/golems.

Other than that the guide looks great and detailed, thx a lot for sharing and taking the time

Not OP but;

Aside from the Scourge Claw (20C~), every other required unique is pretty low cost (1C or even less). For the helmet, you're going to have to do what he suggests and and buy a helmet with 2 out of the 3 rolls. Should only cost you a few chaos.

Here's what I did for Sunder leveling:
OP suggested Brightbeak/Princess for dual wield Sunder as well as a Tabula. The other usual leveling uniques (Goldrim, Wanderlust, Thief's Torment if you have it) are good.

I swapped out Princess for the Relentless Fury axe when I could and loved it. You lose some attack speed, but get much more damage as well as free Culling Strike for that extra little oomph. The Thief's Ring I listed is an absolute godsend for leveling, and I'd also recommend running Fortify Support directly in your Sunder setup. The Fortify Support does increase the damage of the attack it's linked to by a decent bit, and now you pretty much just always have Fortify. I was originally running Ruthless, but Fortify gave me more DPS, surprisingly.

Also, A B Y S S J E W E L S.
Hi guys

managed to grab two nice helms

both with very high life ( around 90 ) and 30 dex, to save 1 point from the tree

1 has :

- 18 minion damage
- +2 minion skills

2 has :

- 18 minion damage
- 18 conc effect

Playing around with POB, seems like nr 2 brings way more damage for my golems..

Is there anything else i should consider ? for example conc effect may reduce the effective aoe of my golems.. and maybe hinder my clear speed even if dmg is higher ?

which one would you guys use ?

Yea, Fortify gave you more damage because Ruthless is not calculated for the ingame tooltip DPS. In reality Ruthless is around 3 times the damage boost Fortify gives you. PoB is a great tool ;)

Also there must have been something wrong. The cull and Onslaught from Relentless Fury should be nowhere near the boost that a Princess gives. Well at least as long as you use the correct supports like Attack Speed, Multistrike, Conc. Effect, Melle Phys, Ruthless. Not sure why you thought Relentless Fury was such a big boost though. Even more so because you said you lose attack speed and gain damage, that is impossible, it is the other way around, you gain Onslaught (attack speed) and lose a lot of damage (30% phys as extra cold).

The second one. Both get closer in damage when your Flame Golem is Level 21, but until then the "+2 minion gems" is far behind the two support gems. For a level 21 Flame Golem +2 levels will be 20% more damage though, so it will be worth it to upgrade later to one with all three. Or to one with the two supports and +1 to minion gems, will also be a nice boost.

No idea, although I said you "lose" speed because the ATK Speed from Princess is always there, whereas Relentless Fury only gives it to you with Onslaught on Culling Strike (which happens less often than I'd hoped tbh). I switched off to a Scepter with really good rolls later on. Either way though, you'd be correct. I kinda worded my post in a dumb way, my b.
since we can't see your character anymore, could u make an overview which gemsetup u put in which item? or is it all like its linked in the gear section?

also short list of stat priority on yellow gear would be awesome
I just specced back into Spectres/FG, probably done for the season cuz i just got 36 achievements. Stat priority for yellow gear is pretty much just high life with resists and dexterity if you can afford. On gloves it is really nice to have attack speed.

I updated the guide with my final gear and my magic find setup.
