Path Of Blow Me The Fuck Up
in the lab, basic empty room - no monsters and hadn't fought any in that room, no traps, nothing that i saw on floor (I even sat after looking for anything, anything at all). Boom explosion through 5594 health capped resists etc - dead wtf?

this happened to my srs\zombie necro few days ago.
dont remember the map i was running, but basically i was just caching up to my srs's (there was nothing left in that room so they just stopped) and as i entered that same room some of the corpses exploded and i was dead... no other mob's around, and it didnt happen as soon as they died, but after some time. 6.2k hp, fire\ice\light 79\78\78. im so glad i moved to SC before 3.0 :) |

I love how people say, oh its the volatiles, oh its just bearers, oh it was just crit etc etc. None of them explain what has been reported, but they all feel so smart saying it :D Detonate totems - oh wait no totems in map. Etc. Stygian? none in map.
Example - volatile damage is too little to do the oneshots that i for example reported. Area level 82 no dmg affix on map "7.2k hp, fortify, 16.3k armour and with taste of hate active". Crit? nah i am using brass dome. Same as bearers doesn't explain the proccing of berserker savage hit triggered etc. Something else is going on here, i have yet to check out what someone mentioned about mobs in sewers or something but besides that the other "normal" explanations are insufficient to explain observations, and i don't think it is the those mobs either. Scorpions spikes? Extremely unlikely, some huge screen spamming effect like that is what we all are looking for as an explanation - we just don't see that happened. I remember an earlier thread some guy tested some mobs with corpses that explode and said it was half screen length, i don't recall name but i haven't really noticed those although i've been looking for them. Maybe it's those - who knows, seems unlikely as then in party they would be raping insanely much. I am the light of the morning and the shadow on the wall, I am nothing and I am all. I think I had this happen just now - except for the getting killed part. Took "only" ~3k ehp. Have 88% fire resist though and may have had fortify up. This was after killing some mobs in a small room in Crematorium map. The only notable thing other than killing the mobs was me opening a normal (not a strongbox) chest. The corpses were 1x 'Undying Evangelist' and some 'Undying Wretch'. I dont think there were any other mobs there before but not 100% sure. The only unusual thing was the sudden explosion.

The devs mentioned that Harbingers were going to get Detonate Dead as one of their randomly arising skills.
That might not explain all the deaths being reported in this and related threads. But, it might explain some of them. For example, there was a harbinger pack just off screen in the video referenced in an earlier post in this thread. Here's that link again: Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes?
