There's actually been an increase in decent hybrid gear on the market lately. I wouldn't advise crafting a hybrid chest from scratch given the availability of gear on the market. Buying a good non-6L chest and 6L-ing that should be a decent option.

I think it would be rather tough to make crit work as it would require alot of investment both in terms of skillpoints as well as needed another suffix (crit multiplier) on gear.

If shattering is what you want there are a bunch of options, but do note that these would reduce your effective DPS.

1. Use a three dragons helm so your lightning damage can freeze and shatter. Use ice bite instead of elemental focus and grab the 2 status ailment chance and WED nodes at the bottom right en route to Primeval Force instead of the 2 WED-only nodes. You'll have 25% chance to freeze excluding the occasional crit. Also run HoI instead of HoT.

2. Use a tempest binding helm and use it as a pseudo-6L for mobs and put at slower projectile 6L setup in your chest for bosses. Use one call of the brotherhood ring. Also run HoI instead of HoT. You should be able to deal enough cold damage to freeze mobs. You can even use 2 CoTB rings if you want. Do note though that if you use 2 CoTB rings, I'd advise grabbing Fangs of Frost instead of Arcing Blows for higher effective DPS.

Are you doing uber on your howa character or another one? If it's on your HOWA I would love to hear some insights on that. Really curious how vaal pact and the ES buffer handle traps.

If you're doing Uber Lab, I highly recommend spending a regret and speccing out of Vaal Pact to grab Master of the Arena. You don't need Vaal Pact to beat Uber Lab, and the extra regen from Master of the Arena will help tremendously.

Also, I had a brief look at your tree. Its not worth getting the Melding cluster. Its better respec out of that and grab the Written in Blood cluster instead.

Yeah I have melding cause I initially pathed above trickery directly to the witch starter to get MoM asap. I was planning on speccing out of it but I figured I'd just grab both life/es clusters but it seems like the general consensus is melding is pretty shit in general outside of energy from within'ing it.

Currently 75 and really loving the playstyle, my dmg is still a lot lower than what it should be mostly cause I'm still on a 5l and am missing int on chest and boots due to res constraints. I'm hoping with all the jewels and a bit better itemization I can get my dmg decent on a 5l. I always seem to have the worst luck with 6l stuff so I'm really hoping Christ Wilson blesses me with one for this guy...as I'm really feeling like this is a character I can really enjoy putting a lot of time and currency into it.

Yup, you're just 6 points away from 3 jewel sockets which will improve ur dps substantially. Prioritise the jewel socket next to vaal pact before the other 2. A second fertile mind in that jewel socket will improve your INT and DPS substantially. Glad to know you're liking the playstyle! Good luck with crafting!

1. Are you running both Wrath and Herald of Thunder? If so, drop HoT for now. The damage bonus it provides right now is not worth the mana reservation. This way you'll have more unreserved mana for spamming ST. Also, if you need more mana leech, spend an extra point to grab the mana leech node next to the life and mana leech node in the vitality void cluster.

2. GMP imo for better aoe coverage, provided u can manage the increase in mana cost.

Well, I'm sad to say that I died last night in a completely avoidable way. Was farming guardians and did a Minotaur map with temp chains. Thought about rerolling it, since it also had +elemenetal damage to attacks, but figured it's fine, just use flasks and portal out. Was too overconfident, thought I could do it without flask charges, then whirled through the lightning rods, got slowed, no flasks up, wasn't at full hp / es and then minotaur's through the ground charge explosion attack thing got me. Always thought that out of the guardians, Chimera is the one that would be the most rip prone with the chaos damage snakes, but overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer.

Hilariously enough, i said fuck it and ripped a shaper set to standard, then did him in one portal, first time ever doing the fight. Ez gaem amirite. Totally could've been farming Shaper ages ago, hahaha.

Ah well, them's the breaks in hardcore. Was a blast while it lasted, thanks so much again for the build. Maybe i'll give it another try next league.

Now already got a new build theorycrafted, dual Scourge Blade Flurry necromancer! Crunching numbers in PoB looks very good so far. Don't see any build guides quite like it yet, so if I can get it going successfully, I'll probably post a link. If it's okay with you, could I use your guide template as a rough starting base? Your organization and explanations are always excellent.

Can you offer any insights for doing uber lab on this kind of setup? Frankly I am thoroughly dreading doing it because I loathe the lab as a whole.

My intention is to buy a carry run but I'm still very worried about extended traps. If I can get lucky and find a good runner I think I'll be fine but it's been my experience that most people that sell runs are garbage and just take off and leave you in the dust to fend for yourself. "Oh sorry you aren't a QoTF pathfinder too?"

Tbh I didn't really have any issues with lab. It might seem counter-intuitive, but the best method is often just rushing through ti as quickly as possible. With QS/silver flask + frenzy charge movement, the faster you run through the traps the less damage you take, even if you just beeline straight through the middle without caring about actively trying to dodge stuff. I did it once for the points but didn't get a chance to try farming it before dying, so YMMV.

Shucks, ya overconfidence is definitely the #1 killer haha

Good to know your DPS was already good enough for a deathless shaper kill, and at least you've got some experience with him now!

Just to add to Vyvanne's input, do remember to set up your pantheons accordingly. I'm a fan of Ralakesh myself when it comes to lab runs. Ryslatha is another one worth considering if you think you may be reliant on flasks.

Oh, one thing I always do for VP builds is carry a Saturated Eternal life flask and replace a dps flask. Your damage will be good enough that you don't need to MAXDPSMODE and spam all flasks to burst Izaro down, so replacing for a nice long regen flask for long trap sequences is nice, and seething flask ensures emergency healing if you get unlucky and get spike trapped in roomba blade.s

What about soul tether itself? My plan was to take it off for trap sections but put it back on for izaro.
