[3.5] Mjölner Untethered 3.5 UPDATE! Mjölner is back! Uberelder+Shaper done

Hey,
a 6L is not required but helps a lot. if you cant afford a 6L, you can leave add accuracy out. BUT you should consider having add accuracy on a ring or helmet to get a decent hitchance(>85%) if you dont use the gem.

if you cant use voll's devotion yet, look out for a rare amulet with crit chance, crit multi, life. other good stats are str, accuracy, resists. for farming, bisco's seems to be a good option!

In my build guide i wrote that conc is only used for bosses! dont use it for mapping, its awful because of its red aoe. also make sure to use aoe notes while mapping. gems to swap for conc effect are inc crit dmg, contrl destruction, inc crit strike, item rarity, onslaught. i currently use onslaught for extra fast mapping( want to hit lvl 99 and dont care about currency anymore, dmg is more than enough).

can i use Choir of the Storm Lapis Amulet for a cheap ver ?
after its 3.0 nerf this item isnt that good. for 65 chaos you could buy a decent rare amulet that fits the build better.
Voll's Devotion IS best in slot! you should really try to get it.

correct me if im wrong.. but.. arent those tens of exalts worth of jewels?
I cant hold my hp at good levels, I'm dying too much, cant leech etc. Please help me asap.

BTW im shadow trickster.
Nice build for sure, especially for me since I was one of the ones who worked hard on the old RainbowNuke build and made a LL Champion version of it. With your guide, I think I might be able to make this build for a Witch - Elementalist. Granted, it won't have the flask uptime that the Pathfinder will, but I have some other ideas for keeping health up and instead of using Cyclone, I'll try a combination of Molten Strike/Lightning Strike depending on single target or map clear. Granted, it's also not going to flow as well as Cyclone, but...think I have some ideas on how to fix that up as well.

discharge triggers "on hit", not on attack. for the case of 2.74 times a second you are right, with such an attack speed(unoptimal) it would only trigger "per attack" because the time between each hit would be slightly below 0.2ms meaning every 2. cyclone hit would not work because of the discharge cd. but an attack rate of 5 times per second is not needed. just think about an attack rate of 2.4 times/second resulting in 4.8 hits per second. this would mean that the first as well as the second hit from each cyclone would trigger because the hit would be every 0.208 and not fall into the discharge cd range.

our discussion about attack speed assumes a linear hitrate on cyclone
after doing some testing i cant confirm that it works this way. in fact, even a cyclone with a shitty as of 2.74/s discharge triggers around 4 times/second. i've been wondering why and this is what i've found.

this explains the cyclone mechanics quiet good in my opinion. Basically this guy says that we dont need any attack speed because we improve our cyclone hitrate via movement speed. after some testing, i tend to confirm that this is true.

the belt is still worth it. it does give us the ability to use 1 extra discharge per second (20% more dps). even if we cant hit the optimal proc rate and are slightly below it, we couldn't do the same with a discharge cd of 250ms (4 discharges per second). we'd also loose some discharges there due to unoptimal trigger times. i can't say if the boots are better for this build than the belt, maybe they are. both are best in slot items if you ask me.

Hi again. I'm still skeptical about this after reading a bit more myself.

This is what I am assuming about cyclone (based on Wiki and MarkGGG's posts):
1) Cyclone spins at your attack rate. So an attack time of 0.25 means you're spinning 4 times in one second.
2) Cyclone hits twice per spin. Assuming linear hit rate, that would mean a hit time of 0.125 (still within the discharge cooldown).
3) The minimum travel distance of cyclone is 10. A character's hitbox is 2. So the minimum distance is 5 characters' worth (standing side by side etc. i guess you can line up your masters in your h/o as close as possible to see how far that is?). Can you cover that 10 distance fast enough to start the next cyclone spin such that it happens faster than the cyclone attack rate? I have my doubts about that.

Don't get me wrong. I WANT this belt to be worth (I hit a +1 endu vaal on mine a few weeks back). I'm just trying to get definitive math on whether or not it's worth. My spin speed with zero buffs is 0.24s and goes to 0.23-something with buffs. Aiming for 0.2 but I find it's really tough investment-wise to stack that much without an aurabot.

Thanks for the objective discussion about this.

sacroo setup is a good setup for cyclone mjolner don't get me wrong...

but yes u could argue about some optimization since is current number are too close enough n leave no room for mistake when fighting boss. But if ur so worried about cyclone hit rate/att speed just replace ACC gem by inc attack speed. If u invest into this build u won't need that gem so using the faster attack gem would get u a decent cyclone A/S.

But i can tell u this belt is worth it, stop ...... looking at discharge/proc rate being too tight, just like everyone ur forgeting about the great boost it give to the COC setup, this allow for a more optimized charge generation since the COC CD get reduce too.

Im currently playing probably the most optimized cospri's build in this game n i can tell u this belt is worth it no matter what ppl say, they are only afraid of things that are new.
A day w/o dealing with stupid ppl is like....Never mind. Ill tell u if it ever happens

I'm not talking about CoC though. I'm talking about Mjolner and Discharge specifically. I agree with you that it may be worth for CoC but I haven't even thought about those builds. Again, I'm not trying to be difficult so please don't take any offense to my questioning. I'm really trying to figure out mathematically if it's worth for Mjolner builds is all.

COC...... have u look at the build guide?????

he's using a COC setup to generate power charge have u note that he's not using romira ring????? This build generate power charge with firestorm on the COC setup, so this belt allow the build to get more firestorm going wo it have a more stable charge generation, so even if ur unsure about getting max discharge proc its still BIS for the dmg it bring trought charge generation.
