Why is there no auction house?
tab out to browser and copy/paste and just spam til you get answer is good trade in their mind... if you're in a map it's wasting portal if you have many traders :D

" Problem is people compare everything to D3 , while we don't even have gold in this game lol. |

Ok... I'll say it again. GGG's revenue stream is primarily based on people's desire to store items. If there was an "easy" way to get around storing item for later use, their revenues would drop.
Deal with that issue or you're never going to see any movement towards an AH. |

" If only that was the only hold up, and you and i both know it is not. They could easily make auction or sell out tabs to be bought. Make one specifically for currency+2-3 other items, and make this one free for ALL. Then make premium ones for items, like 10-20 items per tab, and maybe even put a limit on how many each person can have, though i would see issues with many making extra accounts, heh. Or another option would be to have the tabs purchasable ingame with currency. They could be temporary and limited to such amount of items to sell or sold. They would not carry over to new leagues, so they would always be a currency sink. Not to mention their is plenty of other options for non tab designs. POint is, they could do it, they just refuse to. " There is that, its a completely different type of economy. Though th ebot fears from D3 are an issue to deal with, you are right, can not even compare to currency systems so different. IGN:Axe_Crazy Last edited by MasterAxe on Feb 2, 2018, 6:45:46 PM

" Add in LUA, a paperdoll, in-game Path of Building, and a combat parser. The lack of these features is a deliberate design choice to prevent people from progressing through content. Instead of making boss fights, say, mechanically harder or require certain gear to accomplish, or a system that adds mods to all act 2 areas and maps for an hour so that certain builds are punished and other have an easier time, nope, they just release op items, the chinese farmers figure it out fast, since there's 5000 of them, and then they cheese or cheat their way to T15 maps. The design space left unventured-into by the Devs at GGG is astonishingly mind-boggling. But once you see that ONLY Chris is allowed to jsp his way to a lvl 100 javazon, it all starts to become a loooot clearer. Last edited by Orca_Orcinus on Feb 2, 2018, 9:52:06 PM

I have played this game on and off for a really long time. Actually since it was first available on steam. I've played sh*tloads of ARPGs, I love them since I first played Diablo 1 when I was a tiny kid. I LOVE Path of Exile, its the best ARPG atm.
However I haven't played at all for many months. The fact that PoE needs trading to actually play the game and does not have an AH is the only real flaw I can find. It is so f*cking colossal that I don't want to play anymore. Either remove trading completely and have a robust SSF system or add an AH. It is simple. Playing endgame right now is ATROCIOUS. Having to search in a third party site and then whispering like 30 people before one responds to buy a little item is insane. Having to port back to hideout every little while, interrupting your mapping or lab or w/e is unacceptable. I have a life, I work and study, when I log into my PoE account I want to actually play the damn game, I want to map and I want to Lab, I dont want to sit around whispering to afks and i don't want to stop playing and start porting around to sell a measly item. I am not lying when I say that the trading is the ONLY problem I have with PoE but it is so huge it just ruins the game for me. | |
" Everyone has a life, you aren't special. Trading is part of PoE, and I can't say I've ever experienced these horror stories everybody else seems to have. If your build can't make it to white maps without trading then something's wrong, and at that point you probably only need cheap alchemy/few chaos orb upgrades to get into yellow maps, which isn't hard either. People just sound lazy. |
|
" Here we go exaggerating again.I actually did what you claim you have done, and that's why i don't believe you. I also got a life, and being able to clear and progress in this game comes naturally, you know...shitload of ARPGs. fact is im a gamer and been in allot of different communities and i've noticed a trend. If one says "i have a life" as a counter argument,in every case he/she's just lazy. Last edited by Kasapnica on Feb 15, 2018, 11:51:56 AM

" I'm fairly sure they don't view it as "good trade". But it IS good for the game as a whole, and that's the main thing. Sure, there are a lot of improvements they can do, but a classic auction house with instant buyouts is not an improvement to the game. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

" >Played for a really long time, but SSF is too hard! >I have to trade to be able to do lab and maps! What the fuck are you on? Did you play this game for years but only a few hours each year? SSF is not hard unless you make up your own Nice Build™ that doesn't work without build enablers. Sustaining high tier reds might be hard, but not what you are mentioning.
