You right, on shaper real dps on 11 wither stack is 6mil BUT its more than fine to kill it very easily. In my title dps over all trash not just shaper dont see any problem there, because some ppl are not playing to farm shaper but farming maps or other craps and thay got link to POB so thay can chage cals as thay want...
Thanks for the build, you may want to reorganize it. It is too complicated to understand, couple of different passive trees and different item builds. Levelling part is also important. I farmed till 54 lvl using dark pact but it is really hard to survive. What do you suggest as pantheon? What level should I start using vaal pact? I feel like If I start to use it now I'll die a lot more.

Something to note in the PoB link is that you need Increased Duration on wither totem to get 20 stacks. Without it, you're only getting 11 stacks which is a huge drop in damage. At 5.89 casts/s and 2 second stack duration, you're not going to get anywhere near 20 stacks without a maxed out Inc Duration gem. 140% vs 77% increased damage taken when comparing 20 vs 11 stacks. RF also seems rather impractical outside of boss fights or dense maps, which is another 2.2mil dps decrease when not in use, down to 5.139mil dps without RF against normal mobs. RF is a nice way to pad the stats of most builds considering the huge spell damage increase, but it's not exactly practical to throw it on any build and say "that's my theoretical dps". No matter how you try and justify it, it's 2k degen per second.

The calculation is also misleading because you're relying on Arcane Surge on Lightning Warp. Mana cost is 53 for lightning warp, meaning you'd have to cast lightning warp 8 times to reach the 400 mana threshold to trigger the buffs for arcane surge. That's not happening, that's a huge decrease in DPS to be spamming that, and it's completely impractical. Not to mention Arcane surge only lasts 4 seconds base, or 1.64 seconds with lvl20q20 Lesser Duration gem linked as you have it. Cast rate for lightning warp is 2.51 casts per second, meaning it'd take 3.18 seconds to get a 1.64 second buff, which also takes away from time you can be spent casting DP. In reality, arcane surge buff is not going to be active, and even if it is it'll only be active for 1.64 seconds. PoB assumes Arcane Surge buff is constantly up, when in reality it will almost never be up.

Therefore, without arcane surge the PoB dps drops to 3.93mil dps, or 5.58mil dps if you have RF active.

Ball lightning should apply shock just fine, so no issue there.

84 dex means you can only have lvl 5 haste, lvl 15 herald of ice, so a minor decrease to 3.80mil dps, or 5.399 mil dps with RF active against normal mobs.

You have no flasks to deal with freeze or shock. Considering the 2k degen per second, that would mean you'd be at risk of being 1 shotted quite if you ever came up against those ailments. with RF on.

Conc. effect is really only necessary against bosses, the decrease in aoe is a huge hindrance especially if you're constantly rushing to get to the next group of enemies due to RF.


In Summary, the actual dps is probably closer to the following (with perfect jewels you linked):
Normal Mobs (replacing conc. effect with controlled destruction):
3.3mil dps without RF, or
4.7mil dps with RF


Standard boss (with conc. effect):
4.6mil with RF (the only realistic scenario in which you'd use RF)

Shaper/Guardian (with conc. effect):
2.85 mil dps without RF (because RF against Shaper is impractical without regen), or
4mil dps with RF

3.3mil is nothing to scoff at, but it's nowhere near 9.5mil DPS. You can take almost any spell build and arbitrarily add arcane surge to lightning warp, and RF to an unset ring. And you also can't just arbitrarily assume 20 stacks of wither if gem setup doesn't support it. Adding that to any chaos damage build will almost triple the DPS output in a misleading way.

U can just simpy check his character (without fantasy crafted items) without shocck (which is bugged now) and with 10 wither stacks + RF bonus, its 2m vs shaper. (RF is suicide tbh but ok)
Sorry pel but ur an idiot, coming to this topic and compering Dark Pact build to different like Specrte Summoner .... try to compere betwin dark pacts. Many ppls done all content (shaper too) with it and thay say just thx to my priv and you tring to prove that its crap. Dont get ppl like you.

Hey man, thanks for the build, been having a lot of fun. Managed to do guardians for the first time with it, having played casually on and off for a long long time and never having done any proper endgame before, so yeah!

I'm now having a crack at shaper but seem to have hit a bit of a brick wall - failed a good 6-8 times without getting past the second phase hehe.

This is the first time I've tried shaper, so inevitably I'm a bit inexperienced, but I feel like my damage is nowhere near where it should be, so I was wondering if you could suggest anything. Currently using:



Doing the non-crit build, with a decent 7500 life. Been playing around with different auras (haste, purity of ice) and different boots (kaom's vs movement speed ones) but can't say I see any significant difference. Still need to finish leveling gems and some of my jewels are not ideal, but other than that not sure what I could do more. Thinking of also trying a 6l chest instead of pledge so I can use shield charge, but it feels like I would lose a tonne of damage that way...

Anyways, any thoughts would be appreciated, cheers!
How does this build compare to a build that doesn't use hidden potential cost and accessibility wise. When would I be able to transition from sunder leveling to dark pact?
I understand why people blaming build for being not honest, Why do we even have RF since we have Vaal pact how a single person can survive after using RF? There is couple skill and items like this which supposed to increase dps. This is definitely not an honest build. I must say it still has a good tree and still powerful without those incompatible items and gems.

I left in the OP's silly calc choices (shock, 20 wither, righteous fire) for more easy comparison to his paste. This gear gives literally double the damage (20 million DPS). Removing shock and righteous fire, and setting wither to 10 stacks brings it down to 8 million DPS. Still impressive, but of course good luck getting that gear.
