Quest: The Kings Feast is skipped

I'm a bit confused by the reports in this thread. Yes, you can technically skip the Utula quest and just go kill Kitava right away, but it shouldn't break anything.

It doesn't matter if you have killed Kitava or not.
It doesn't matter if you have killed Utula or not.
It doesn't matter what level you are.
It doesn't matter what NPCs you have talked to.
It doesn't matter if you have the quest or not.
It doesn't matter what state your character in.

Utula ALWAYS spawns in the Ruined Square. Always. Just like every other boss, he always spawns.

He even spawns in roughly the same place (opposite side of the square from the exit to Cathedral Rooftops). He has a little park with a giant bloody X made from bodies and stuff.

The only way I can think of where you could miss him is if you joined a party and entered an old instance where someone else had already killed him while you weren't there. (all bosses work this way).

I've tried to repro this - just in case - dozens and dozens of times, but every time Utula spawns as expected. Not sure what else I can do at this point.

thanks for this clue to his location. i thought i had cleared literally everything but i missed a little side street where he was down and there was the small area you talk about. soon as i got within a short distance too the minimap showed a little 'x' saying something was over there.

At the spot you've described, I consistently encounter a different unique monster: The risen Matriarch. Could it be the case, that they share a spawn location and it is possible to somehow miss the trigger that suppresses the spawn of that unique?

Encountering the exact same problem as described.
I am having the exact same problem. The Risen Matriarch is always where Utula should be and I cannot complete this quest -- which I really want loot from.

--solved-- I am an idiot.

Ok, so he's not where the matriarch spawns. He's down one of the little side alleys off that main square.
bump.

got this quest in wrong phase or simple missed it. But it impossible to kill before or after Kitava.

Why are you bumping this?
Quest works perfectly fine.
There was an answer from Developer as well, read that before posting:

Remember, suffering is convenient.
That is why many people prefer it.
Happiness requires effort.
Yeah, it is there. I thought it was missing too but if you go directly across from where the rooftop latter is, there is an alleyway and it is there. I thought I had covered the entire map as well...and found it after following the developers instructions.

It's there, keep looking.
