[3.1] The Blinding Blizzard - Whispering Ice Berserker - Viable for Most Everything

OP: What's the verdict on The Watcher's Eye? Earlier posts suggest that the ES on hit is not worthwhile.

Also just want to say a big thanks for this build guide. I've been wanting to use The Whispering Ice since it came out and this guide made that dream a reality :) Currently at 7.1k ES with 11k tooltip average damage on Ice Storm. I played Essence Drain last league and even with 10k ES felt really squishy - with this character I can take on just about anything.

Watcher's Eye is a big QoL item for clearing maps, for bosses you need a big amount of Icestorms stacked to even notice it, but it can help (helped Kelvynn tank the Shaper beam for example).
It really shines for huge blobs of monsters, when your Ball Lightnings hit everything on screen you proc it a fuckton. So QoL for clearing.
Helps even more if you get an other useful mod like % Physical damage taken as Cold when Purity of Ice is active or something. (or the mana converted in max ES but that one is "a bit" expensive)

Your message is some kind of broken language, so i can't really tell what you are talking about.
What i got, that you get stunned, right? Just use pantheon that will make you immune to stun if you were stunned in last 4 seconds.
Nice build, picked CI + GR at lvl 70 and it rocks.

I was thinking about swapping blind with Vaal Discipline, what do you think?

Up to you really. Back in the elementalist days I ran 3 vaal discs för Atziri.

Nice, thanks for that info. Abysses can get pretty intense sometimes so I'm keen for that QoL. I had better start farming some currency ;)

I tried vaal discipline and it sucks on elder and guardians: You lose loads when canging map.

Does blind affect bosses?

Ugh. Red-map Eradicator. Even with topaz flasks, I'm just not doing very well against it. I generally get two-shot while trying to avoid stuff (in the second phase - first's not too bad) and as soon as I stop to shoot, usually, BOOM.

Any suggestions? (I note the lower level Eradicators also caused me problems but I was able to kill them eventually after a few deaths. This T14 one I ran out of portals.)

Don't avoid any of the guardians, just faceroll them.

The Eradicator can hide though. When he's not there then you have to dodge stuff that flies around the arena. But whenever he is up, just own him. Use Purity of Lightning, of course.

Watcher eye in HC is crazy expensive, especially ES per hit one 80+ ex._.

That's why this build does not rely on it. It's mostly a QoL option for trash clearing. But it's not necessary.

It's very nice for mapping. You can be completely reckless when you have it. Without it you have to be careful when the map has dangerous mods and kill some packs from range - the ones that can take more than 40% of your ES/Life per second. With this jewel you don't care, the more mobs the better, you are as unkillable as the pre-nerf VP version.

Doesn't work the same way against bosses though. With 1 target the difference is very minor.

VD no longer gives you extra ES, just recharge, but that's irrelevant compared to the leech. There is no reason to use VD with this build anymore.

Blind is wonderful though. We don't use Unwavering Stance anymore, so the enemy can miss you, and with Blind they miss a LOT. Minotaur misses most of his falling rocks, Shaper misses a lot of Slams, etc.
