It is advised to switch to Icestorm only upon reaching lvl 39 when you can use Scorching Ray + Cast While Channeling on it, making any mana issue irelevant. I did the same as you on my current build tho and just took 2 mana flasks with me for those 6 levels. Was a bit painful but dps was way better than my Firestorm so... (I'm doing the Witch version tho, hence the Firestorm) So, just got to 39, switched to my 6 socket Whispering ice. Was confused for a moment because I couldn't cast icestorm. Where is the life leech for Ghost Reaver coming from? After making the switch to CI I was dying quite often. It was only after searching I realized there is no life leech in the passive tree, so I wasn't leeching any energy shield. I had to buy a Watcher's Eye jewel to not fight as if this was a ranged build. Did I miss a node or gear that give life leech? If not I'll drop Ghost Reaver until I get Pain Reaver. You are supposed to have Pain Reaver before you even start using the Whispering Ice. It's the very first Ascendancy you get as soon as you unlock the Normal Lab and do it, at something like lv 25-30. Ugh. Red-map Eradicator. Even with topaz flasks, I'm just not doing very well against it. I generally get two-shot while trying to avoid stuff (in the second phase - first's not too bad) and as soon as I stop to shoot, usually, BOOM. Any suggestions? (I note the lower level Eradicators also caused me problems but I was able to kill them eventually after a few deaths. This T14 one I ran out of portals.)
