As much as I show excessive displeasure in Blizzard and them charging $15 for something that took them 2 years to do ...and only costs $5 previously....

At least it's worth more than a GGG MTX. Blizzard doesn't make you buy additional necromancers every time you want to use one ^.^ .

That said ... yeah that picture does say a lot about the differences in motivation and development between the two companies. Blizzard is clearly "done" with the game ..and is pretty much "that guy" whose trying to sell you your old football jersey during your highschool reunion. GGG's expansion content has it's own poltergeist of laziness ..but at least it's tangible content.

The last great thing Blizzard did in 2 years was give us a crafting cube that was pulled from the beta 4 years earlier.

That's a terrible example.

yeah MXT is totally optional

and with the new system (once they implement the darn thing lol) you wont need to buy duplicates of the same MXT to use it on multiple guys

Necromancer is totally optional too.
The point was that paying $15 for a microtransaction for Diablo 3 gives you more than even a $40 MTX in PoE. And doesn't require duplicates "for convenience".

And no..with the new system you still need duplicates. Nothing has changed on that front between the old and the new system. The MTX that were "infinite" before are still infinite with the new system, but nothing else has changed over. You'll still need multiple weapon effects , multiple wings, etc..

my understanding is that the new system would allow you to swap out MXT instantly between guys
thus eliminating the need for multiples

perhaps I misunderstood

Well, if that is the extent in which you define needing multiples, then you are correct ..but that still hasn't changed from the current / older system where you can do the exact same thing.

You're still needing to remove MTX from your other characters..which means you need to sift through and go through the process every time you switch characters..which may be pretty often with some people. The new system might be quicker ( we shall see ) ..but in terms of needing multiples ..you'll still need to for the same reasons you would need them before ( like say weapon effects, armor, etc. )

In the context of the necromancer comparison, it would be as if every time you wanted to make another necromancer, you had to delete the previous one ( only 1 total necromancer ). That might seem silly if all you did was play "standard" , but if you do "leagues" and "temp challenges" ..then that means often having to delete characters. Or maybe you just need to remove all the gear from the first necromancer to equip the new one in order to play it. That would be just as tedious.

The point was about the similarities ( as microtransactions ), rather than the literal exactness of it.

Going back to quickly touch base with the PoE MTX system though, I asked in another thread why there even needs to be a "limit of 1" system anymore with the new MTX UI. There shouldn't be any technical limitations that could have prevented it before ( attaching to items ), so why still make us remove a pair of wings in order to place it on another character for that day? You can have an "infinite" amount of $2 pets ..but you still have to swap out $40 wings? It seems absurd. Or just GGG's greed knows no bounds.

And that makes me question why I ever argued against Blizzard charging $15 for something that only costs $5. ( They're both wrong in their pricing regardless ).

yeah but with the new system you dont need to sift through you guys to remove it you just press a button and it goes from one guy to the other

all your MXT is organized and listed even if it is equipped

no need to sift or find it anymore

I dont see any any key!

We will see. From what I read It doesn't seem as simple as just a button click, it sounds more like opening overlays, etc. to sift through your characters without having to actually load into the characters themselves. I'm sure it will be faster, but how fast and how streamlined the experience we won't know till it drops.

I really do hope it's completely unintrusive / easy to switch out cosmetics, I really do.
Id still rather be able to just leave my MTX on all of my characters though. Even having to switch them out once or twice a session is more than annoying for me.
