The reason I stretched for the Kitava Supporter Pack is that I appreciate exactly what you are criticising. I know I can spend the money now that I have it and choose to, and if I ever don't have the money later I can continue to enjoy Path of Exile regardless. Contrasting that with Blizzard, in Diablo III if they add anything of note you'll need to pay for it. I actually think World of Warcraft is the more salient example if you consider the update schedule of both games, and with World of Warcraft if you ever can't afford a monthly sub you get locked out of anything level 20 or higher. You could spend thousands on the game, but Blizz have no problem with cutting you loose the instant you stop giving them money. That is horrendous. GGG doesn't "make" you purchase duplicates. Outside of expanding the default number of stash tabs - which is a bit on the stingy side - spending money is optional. You can criticise them for being pro-consumer if you want, but I'll never understand why you would do so. tl;dr: You. The consumer. On the other side of that coin... I fully thank Blizzard for pricing their game the way they do. It keeps me from ever giving it a second chance and wasting my time.

As a player who has only recently joined the PoE community, I have to say that this game has a very fair F2P model, and is very kind to new players and those with limited funds. So far the only thing I kinda had to do was purchase a stash tab bundle. And that's it, everything else is purely optional. And the funny thing is, I've already bought a currency tab, and I'm thinking about buying an essence tab and a divination card tab in preparation for the next league - not because I need them, but because I'd like to support the developers, even if my modest contribution pales in comparison with Kitava packs that some other guys here are purchasing ;) That's what I call good marketing and good business model.
Fuck master rotas. Fuck any kind of rotas, for that matter.

Sure. But I can get that from Kongregate or a good book. PoE is more than a game to me. It's a hobby. It's a pastime. It's become a "way of life".
I don't see D3 ever being more than a game I tried for a while. |

What's up with the hate? As far as I know the Necromancer would have been a part of the failed expansion called King in the North. A lot of content that was meant to be released with that expansion (such as Ruins of Sescheron, the Cube et cetera) came earlier and for free, outside of RoS. For someone who still enjoys the game and wants to play the new class, 15$ is totally justified.

The other non quoted commentary also literally says nothing about not feeling the need to spend money on anything. You can't say that you bought the supporter pack for the exact things i was criticizing ..when you didn't even mention anything that was criticized. Even the quoted part is a statement, not a critique. I never said they "make" people do anything, were "pro consumer", or anything about locking anything behind a pay wall. How are you even a "valued poster" with that level of misinformation and libel. Seriously. You make me feel like an ass just having to point out these inaccuracies.
