Weekly Beta Report Two

The DoT changes are very disheartening. Done with beta for now, not interested in testing when it was a struggle just to get a non-ED poison/chaos DoT build to feel somewhat decent. Now I think that is gone with both the gem nerfs and the Perfect Agony keystone nerf...

Might return once 3.0 is released and things are "balanced" for a few months before being jerked around again.

I know I sound more and more negative with every new reply I post, but the game is losing a lot of fun with every release and patch, so it seems. These first waves of beta changes were fun to play with and, yes, some where a little over the top and I expected them to be scaled back, but there is a big difference between scaling something back and outright stomping on it. For "balance" changes, I feel that GGG has been doing the latter for far too long now and the game just isn't as fun anymore.

Perhaps, if 3.0 still feels the same after release, it will be time to say goodbye to PoE.

You describe pretty good what I'm feeling right now ...

Agreed. GGG closed door game creation philosophy cannot be to put something in for 6 months and then nerf the shit out of it. I don't want to invest the time to have everything I do and plan become worthless shortly after. The whole reason I tried poe in 2013 was that it offered incredible amounts of ways to play the game. If more options are going to be taken off the table then are put on it I don't believe that's the vision that was originally communicated.

And again nerfing an entire system because there are one or two players who have insane mirror gear and are trivializing the game doesn't mean that majority of players can abuse those mechanics to the same degree. I've never agreed with nerfing. It's what killed diablo 3 for me. I'd make a build for a season and then next season they would break it. It happened 5 times to me and then I couldn't handle it anymore.
Sorry for the rant.

I understand the nerf of Perfect agony with Assassin i was up to deal more then 30 millions DPS but now with the changes i dont know how much Dmg it really do because you nerf 4 Parts of my Build Idea so i can only wait for it :/

Hahahahahahahahahaa its been long since i seen such outrage and disappointment on PoE forums.
Gonna need to stash extra popcorn for every beta report and "balance"(LOL Blizzard Ghostcrawler any1?) notes.
Keep the good "work" up lmao.
I see none CI/ES build in beta so far.

NICE !..
With the "1h 6L wipe" the PoE turns to a joke now.
There is no sane reason for one to play it any further.
Prediction: 70% SSF-SC will play Decay Summoner. Its so insanely easy to scale compared to every other way to scale it. It takes almost no gear investment and scales perfectly into lategame.
What about: Take away Decay from scaling with minions or traps (because its nuts and minions dont need more love anyway). Take away Decay from spells (because they already got Essence Drain for the same job). Give Decay a melee-tag and rescale it.
please keep Brutality as it is
GGG gutting Brutality FeelsBadMan
I appreciate the hard work GGG puts into balancing, but I don't really agree with most of the changes that have been done lately. If your goal is to slow the clear speed by absurd amounts at least be transparent about it. There are so many skills that are sub-par and unable to compete in end game, but your focus is solely on the small percentage of skills that are actually able to perform. I strongly believe that your ideas of creating build diversity, especially from a hardcore point of view, are counterintuitive. The balance team seems in need of an injection of fresh ideas.

Cuz the SSF ladder is so diverse right? It already shows the number of viable builds without heavy investment. Gear/uniques should be for min/maxing/QoL not to define or make a build viable. Period.
This is where they messed up and pretty hard.

But dont worry, its intentional.

1. You are forced to trade for uniques (aside from the very generic and boring starter builds obviously cuz u need to start the grind engine) to make most builds viable.

2. What u need to be effective at trading aka obtaining gear for the builds u wanna try? Yes tabs.

3. What tabs cost? Yes money.

Dont get me wrong, their f2p model and shop is the best out there. But when they sacrifice so much for that (game diversity) my heart gets broken since i love the game and the extra potential they waste this way.

Dont blame the players blame GGG for ruining diversity and now they ruin it even further.
Year by year they kill it. Illusion of choices and its getting worse.
