" It's even worse than expected. Cold & Lightning damage has been nerfed across the board, along with chill and shock effects, meaning we'll need an additional skill support gem to be used in a slot to get them back to the power they used to be. Not only that, Frenzy and Power charges have been nerfed by almost half their effect/bonus & they don't boost all damage any more, just attack damage from skill gem's. Basically the Pathfinder & Assassin ascendancy's have been completely and utterly gutted. Anything based around DOT, poison or stacking damage has also been completely destroyed. Builds using combined Cold & Lightning damage/skills have also been completely smoked. Every single last Trap build in the entire game also just got nerfed to the floor with the Power/Frenzy charges. It's literally left them unable to push past about T3 maps now. Then there's also the Val Lightning or any Vaal skill that uses lightning now being completely useless against bosses or anything with decent life numbers. Basically TL/DR, the effective changes made across the board today (just what we've found so far) have left any build using shock, lightning, traps, DOT, or poison good vs white trash enemies and so bad vs anything stronger, the damage is basically useless. Even on Tier 1 and 2 maps. I have no clue why they made ANY of the changes they way they did, because it is the exact opposite of how people use them, or when they need to be used. Nothing outside of Poison damage that got changed even had anything to do with builds that were even remotely considered top-tier builds, either. GGG just trashed 100's of viable builds and did NOTHING about all the best buils being based around Crit Stacking. Not only that, they removed Crit nodes from the right side of the tree, where they were specifically put because Scion/Ranger/etc... builds basically don't have any inherent in-built Crit in their uniques, skills or ascendancy's. My thoughts about the changes:
flasks: atziri - ~1/5 less effective: 5% less ele to chaos dmg basalt flask - ~1/4 less effective: 5% less physical dmg reduction quicksilver flask - changes reverted alchemist node - 2% less duration, 4% less effect of flasks vinktar(not required anyways)- still broken, they didn't change the op leech charges: 2/5 less crit per power charge: 50% -> 30% chance less dmg(how much?) per frenzy charge: 4% more damage with Attack skills (as opposed to 4% more Damage) status ailments: the shock changes will lower the dmg against bosses a lot: 40%+ ? Imo the flask changes aren't that big, but the power charge and shock changes hurt. On the other hand its still a build which can deal with good items 10x as much dmg as with budged items. Not sure if i still play it, waiting for Aces opinion. |

Playing as Pathfinder is now worthless. Raider is the best option. 100000-150000+ DPS as Rider after flask nerfs.

in spite of flask nerfs...Do you guys think its worth looking at the changed icebite/innervate gems for the added damage + innervate buff effect?
Also correct me if im wrong....does the frenzy change not really matter for us anyway? Barrage/KB are attacks as seen in the skill gem tags or am i missing some part of the calculation? if we still include the alchemist wheel + the 4x 5% flask effect nodes from pathfinder we're at 46% effect...we'd need 4% to still get the +1proj from dying sun..Conqueror's Potency still gives +8% according to cb.poedb |

Seems like GGG MAY be ready to rollback the changes to frenzy charges and power charges if enough people continue to complain.

I don't think that Alchemist rly affect Pathfinder.
We got now 46% flask effect and then isn't it rounded up to 50%? I was checking in PoB and Dying Sun still gives me 3 proj. So still it's like the bigges dmg upgrade. good i gave this build a try during turmoil, that was fun.
