Very solid system.

i think a lot of questions will be obsolete after the 3.0 release and normally your changes are still fluently as every time.

btw: the multicore x64 works just up to max 4 cores / 8 threats. if you got xeon, or i7 6 core cpu managment with "intel turbo boost max" is much smother than your tweakings.
proof: just open up task manager while game play and switch the intel max app on and off..

i really looking forward to another quality update, and wish luck that this "ggg-stone" (milestone) will work bug free...

No, why should they?. Penetration is part of the enemy mitigation calculation. It works just as it worked befor.
Amazes me the number of people that believe the sky is falling, when you haven't even seen what they are doing in totality. Yes, double dipping is going away. It's already been stated that other things will be adjusted. So before anyone decides that the game is dead, ignite/freeze/whatever is dead and useless, let's wait and see what the -other- changes result in doing.

I have little doubt that when everything is said and done lots of people will find ways to come up with very powerful builds that use the new mechanics. Likely with a bit more variation then was originally possible. Is whatever build your using that uses these mechanics going to stay exactly like it is. No. Can you likely still do something constructive with it once you adjust things and make decisions. I would expect so.

Yes, both of these things will still apply.


I think I am really confused here, but isn't that double dipping if its a chaos damage attack that causes the poison?

Probably because they've been burned before with the AoE "balance" nerfs that resulted in trash AoE builds and the current Path of Projectiles.
Long story short, the new system is totaly broken and stupid. The explanation is realy simple:
Assuming we can scale both, the DPS and the DOT and we do have to choose we obviously will scale the "better" one.
Meaning you eliminated half of the game components for a lot of builds. Oh, look at this amazing build ( i totaly created it myself by using 3rd party toools) it scales ignites and doesn't give a fuck about the normal hit. How exciting.


Do you have any idea what you have done and what the new optimized builds will look like?
I guess not.
