lockstep ...

And running the lab with Vaal Pact is a bit trickier, but really doable.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

If he's having desync with predictive, lockstep sure won't help. ;)
Just a lowly standard player. May RNGesus be with you.

Of course it would.
Have you even tried ?
Going predictive using movespeed in trap gauntlet on a bad connection is just suicidal, you cannot know when you're going to get hit by the traps or not.
Widh lockstep, you can notice much quicker when the ping is not stable and pop your life flask if you need.

Yep, sure have. Couldn't do shit with lockstep without a stable connection. Predictive is far more forgiving than lockstep when you're not having a stable connection, in my experience.

Well, definitely not in mine, and I am sometimes playing on 130 ping that can jump to 200~400 on some bad days.
On those days I switch to 150 ping Californian server, still .... no way I'm using predictive with those two, and definitely not in the lab.

You likely just have a more solid connection. Even with 30ms ping lockstep can become unplayable.

Been playing predictive since lockstep was released and never had issues in the laby. *shrugs*

More solid connection ?
I seriously doubt that ....
Anyway, maybe you have no problems in predictive, but the OP apparently does.

With lockstep i'm out of life flasks halfway thru traps. With predictive i'm mostly able to pass traps, but sometimes i just rollback to a trap and get hit, which most of time is deadly one, and since lab trial is one-run, well, it's painful. I've managed to finish my uber lab anyway, but it was such pain in the ass, when i can facetank izaro, even buffed, but can't pass the traps because of connection - and my connection isn't terrible tho, i have usually 50-80ping, but the massive fps crush in lockstep with instable ping is deadly as fck, and predictive won't help, because of these rollbacks.
What does lockstep have anything to do with fps ? Oo

I have no idea why latency have such big impact on Path of Exile frame generation, trust me, but it have. With lockstep my fps graph looks like Parkinson writing, while on predictive it's much smoother.
