Beside Spectre, will there be any kind of ranged minion you could have like Zombie?

I've been thinking about animated guardian for a while but I think it`s lacking a little of creativity. Since you can use any kind of item to make it great, in the end it`s mainly either a weak Stash for effect item ( dying breath etc) or a strong minion boosted with ton of unique for melee. But I think the animated guardian should be more versatile then just melee and should act like a movable totem by being able to use skill.

By using skill, I mean in the way of a player does. Instead of using the animated guardian as a str only gem. I`d make it a white gem. If it`s fit into blue, it take the color as its main stat ( red str, green agi, blue int). This way, you would need to equip item appropriate to the color you give it.

Exemple, if you have your animated guardian in a blue socket. He would be more prone to use cloth armor, wand, staff. In a green, it would be more dagger or bow and strength would be 2hand weapon sword or hammer.

The point to this would be to make it be used by anyone that want to, not just necromancer and minion master. It could be like your "Mercenary" that follow you and help you the way you want it to. Let say, you drop a 4L staff with arc, cast on hit, vulnerability, enfeeble. Well, voila, instead of being a mindless minion that just do melee attack, your animated guardian will be casting arc from the back to curse the enemy you are attacking.

To balance this, I`d say to give mana to the animated guardian. So if you equip your guardian with aura, it would also reserve its mana and lower the number of cast it can do. Of course mana potion would now gain the same effect of being able to restore mana to minion with the right mod.

I think this would add a lot to the new SSF way to play, since you are solo as well and don`t have support buff friend next to you for high end map.

If the game engine can't handle the graphics (like in the case of the mjolner+discharge combination) why not change the graphics instead of killing one of the favorite weapons in the game ?

Also will we ever see some QoL summoner improvements, the biggest of which being spectre binding ?

Doubt it. When you say "a lot of people" it is still only a minority of the player base. You cant please every one. if the majority is happy why ruin it for the majority to please the few. Lab is not even challenging, and with 3.0 I believe you only have to do lab 2 times (the regular one and the map one)

Now that youre releasing a console port, and since Ive been playing with a controller for a very long time, Im eager to know if I will get proper controller support in the PC version. Ive been emulating keyboard and mouse input to a PS2 controller.
