Developer Questions and Answers

Will you ever make the jump to PS4? We need a good ARPG.
Hi Devs!

When I first played the beta and seen the ingame map (when you press Tab key) I said, wahh thats barely usable and readable, of course it's beta, they will fix this for sure.

Here is my question: How is it possible you left the map the way it is since beta ?
Do you really like it ? Is it designed this way on purpose ?

Please, for your customers eyes safety you should really improve readability of the map ;)

Keep up your nice work, you made the best hack&slash since Diablo II, you can be proud.

When will you offer an "recycle" feature for duplicate MTX?

Even a 10 point option would be fine. The current mystery box system is outdated, unjust, and fills users with frustration and trash duplicates. Let us trade them in for a very small fraction, and we will come back for more.

I agree. The last update to mystery boxes GGG claimed to be more ethical. I fail to see how giving me 5 crappy horns is ethical. I spent way too much and received so little. In addition to trading in current duplicates (for at least half the value I think), the ONLY duplicates allowed should be fireworks, crystals, and skin transfers. Things you can actually use duplicates of. I know GGG can do this because I recently received a list of what all my of mystery boxes had in them. So when you buy one, they know what you have already received. Trash system. They claim the items will be at least 30 in value. But an item we already have and has no MTX value of owning more than one.... has NO value.

Please fix this...

As for my questions:
When will you make a recall all micro-transactions on account button? And when can we sort them?

&

Will all fire spells eventually have a ghost flame MTX? Like fire golems and molten strike. When I think of the Wildfire jewel... wildfire makes me think of the ghost flame effect like in Game Of Thrones.

I have quite the philosophical questions here:

Do you consider games to actually be a new word in the world of arts?

Do you feel like a part of something bigger than just yourselves after developing and lighting the way for PoE?

I am honestly interested to know: Do you feel kinda honoured, like you achieved something really big?

Do you plan on leaving the stage at some later point in future or you wish to continue the way as long as it can possibly get?

Also, got somewhat other set of questions about the game design:

How you came up with character design, do you intend on deepening the backstories/character interaction?

Will characters react to each other in any possible future?

Have you had some kind of easily recognisable meta messages that you wanted to deliver to us through their designs? (E.g., duelist stands proubly with his back always straight meanining he is there to take on challenges, templar always putting his hand on the place where his sacred book is or uesd to be, etc)

One more of this kind: Do you plan on giving the community the opportunity do deepen the lore by themself OFFICIALLY? If someone's essay or something on subject is quite good why not use it? This kind of logic. Or is it the privilege only of high-sum supporters and pledgers?

That is all, cheers! Thanks for not abandoning your game and never leaving it to rot with no patches and outdated mechanics like some other developers did.

When we get the xbox release will we atleast be able to recover our purchases?
i'm sure it's been asked a hundred times already but will legacy get added to the vanilla game, and if so, will the leaguestones be annoyingly rare (for ssf) like silver coins or will we actually get enough to play with them regularly like the legacy league itself?

also what does the "nearby" modifier mean on belt of the deceiver and other uniques? are all nearby modifiers the same and if not, why do they use the same wording?
I know you are using engine you made by yourself, but I am curious which programming language you've used. And I am interested in programming so it would be awesome to help you as a part-time job, is it possible or not?
With the update to items like Southbound and Fidelitas' Spike having increased skill-specific damage sources, will we be seeing more variations of this skill-specific damage/mechanic boost being added to different uniques in the future? I know we have this at the moment in the form of jewels, but will we be moving to this more on uniques as well?

I have concerns with this, because of how another popular ARPG (I'm sure you can guess it) implemented this type of system a while ago on various legendaries in an attempt to make unused skills viable. While this is seen as a "fix" to those skills, it forced players to use those various items for those builds, and skill balance was pretty much done by adding another skill-tweaking mod on a different unique. Ultimately, it limited viable skills/builds to those that can make use of these legendaries, making most builds borderline useless without them.

I feel that some of the newer threshold jewels have started towards this route (cleave gets fortify, frost blades gets 30% cold pen, etc), and I have concerns that balance will be done by removing options for players who want to use weaker skills, by "forcing" them to take the "mandatory" uniques or threshold jewels. Those are in quotes because while some builds won't need the jewels (champion fortify, inquisitor ignore resistance, etc), many of the other class/ascendancy choices will likely still need those uniques/jewels.

My apologies if this has been asked already.

I love the Insanity mechanic present when equipping the unique item Innsbury Edge.

Who came up with this mechanic originally? Will we ever see this mechanic used on other items in the future?
Bring back race seasons.
We're at page 47. I'm pretty sure every aspect of the game, and your lives, has been addressed, in a way or another :D
I post two questions just to enforce a little the priority of this two particular matters.

1) As of today, market and trading reflect in many ways what happens IRL, at least in places where rules/laws don't apply or apply loosely.
You've stated many times that trading is mostly "working as intended", with player interaction, the necessity to stop grinding for a while (and other stuff like scams and so on).
During Legacy League price fixing is shyrocketing even more than previous leagues. To the point where the first 250 - 300 items listed are mostly fake sales.

When trading was initially conceived, did you have in mind the jungle it is now?

2) POE is the game more reliant on 3rd party sites and tools I happen to know. While some of them are great - and I thank all those who spend time on them - and harmless for players' accounts and computers, others are not so secure. In a way, trying to have some minimal QoL improvements, we're all increasingly risking to get banned (even the entire guild, as we all know) or have accounts stolen, or worse. Not everyone is fully aware of what they are installing.

With a new coming of age for the game (3.0), which has never been this popular, what are your plans to address the problem?

thanks and keep up the good work :)
