[R.I.P.] life Mjolner done right by Rico - Juggernaut version - R.I.P. thx to "balancing" policy
Thx for fast reply.
I forgot to mention that my setup in helmet is only to lvl them up to 20 lvl and use quality recipe. But I thnink I might go for your setup with blind. I didnt know the patheon can make me immunite to poison! Big thx for that. WIll go that way. One more question: How high my resist should be? I aim for 120% in every element. |

Hi guys, I've been loving this build so far i've been cruising through content with ease, this is my gear so far can anyone tell me if I need to improve on something or if a max endurance charge+1 belt would be better than the stygian belt? Also what abyss jewel should I be running with the belt?

" Personally I never took mine past 90-95ish %, doing that method I took the build to 95 on standard and leveled it again on abyss to 96, nearly 97. Imo its a waste of precious other stats to overcap them to that extreme but I know some people like to overcap more then others so w/e # you feel comfortable with really. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To BeamRad I would consider selling that shaped stygian if its below i84 b/c for us to get a 5th discharge per second we need a minimum of 16% CDRS ontop of 4.5 to 4.7 cyclone aps, im assuming youres is below i84 but even so those sell for double digit exalted atm so id cash that in while the gettings good b/c if it cant break 16 its not doing anything outside of the other stats which you can get on any non-shaped stygian. Aside form that its the spare ring, pick up a shaped ring with tier 1 spell damage (31-35). Abyss Jewel wise imo theres only 2 mandatory stats, tier 1 life (46-50) and % life regenerated while moving, the other 2 rolls are completely up to your playstyle. Example of said jewel in the above stygian. The other thing is your gloves, theres no reason to give up an additional 10% spell damage, you can find -1% sp dmg repentance gloves un-corrupted for like 20-30c, the only time you would ever consider -11% or something similar was if you had a crazy corruption like inflict lv12 elemental weakness on hit. " Thats not exactly correct. I dunno why some of you understand this all cooldown story like it was black & white. With 0% CDR I have 4 Discharges, With 20% I have 5, with 15% I have still 4. Its not like that. Its more fluid, time stretched if you like. Yes with 15% CDR you wont have 5 Discharges/s. But saying that you would have only 4 is not the full truth either. You will have 4 "with something" like 4.6, 4.8, 4.3 etc, depending on the actual CDR roll. In other words even 2% CDR belt is still better than having non. To know exactly how much are you gaining look below at my math explanation upon this.
Spoiler
Increased cooldown recovery works as follows: 1 / (1 + X% of your cooldown on item) = your new cooldown mod Cooldown * your new cooldown mod = your new cooldown time For example: we have 15% CDR belt to work with Discharge So our new cooldown mod is: 1 / (1 + 15%) or 1 / 1.15 = 0.869 Discharge base cooldown time is 250 ms so our new cooldown time is: 250 * 0.869 = 217 ms 217 ms is: 1 / 0.217 = 4.6 times per sec. So even 15% belt is increasing number of Discharges per sec from 4 to 4.6. Yes its not "exaclty" 5 Discharges/s but when looking at this from broader point of view: during 30 secounds of time period you will do 138 Discharges instead of 120 or 18 Discharges more. And by all means: This is not "0" improvement. Now when we consider this and also that there will be no more stygian + shaped belt combination availiable in-game after Abyss league ends (Dev said that in the latest manifesto) dont be so hasty on getting rid of your 10-15% Shaped + Stygian belts... What do you guys think about this build for 3.2 will it still be viable? Also do you recommend to use this as a starter build first thing out?
I have to say I enjoy the build, almost 92 now and it's sweet but kind of a pain to lvl it up and gaher the currency for voll's etc in a league start I guess... |
|
Idk, the voll's isnt really an issue, the majority of builds have atleast 1 stupidly overpriced item like xoph's amulet, or a voll's or a windripper etc.
Im just looking for something different to level this league that doesnt have VP, doesnt have trash defense and still has respectable dps and lets me actually do all content like this build. Having leveled this one twice I need a change, been flipping through the forums but havent found anything yet that jumps out. Everything seems to be button happy, wanting you to micro manage 4 different flasks for dps etc, im not doing that on a single player arpg, if I want complex rotations ill go back to FFXIV or similar mmos. " Lol you're so right. Reminds me of the old days of WoW and Rift where you would need tens of macros and stuff like that... Well if you do find anything interesting let me know I'm also curious to try something similar to this build in terms of survival but maybe a bit different playstyle and perhaps a bit more dps. But I guess I'll start this one again if i wont find anything else. |

Ya idk, I took a handful of builds into the low 90s before finding this one and even the "defensive" ones like Sovyn's Lazy Pally were regularly 1 shot in end-game content atleast once every other day. If your only looking to take something to like 90-91 that wouldnt really matter but for me a death is like 100 chaos and 4-6 hours down the drain so I have no intrest in a build that can/will die to a random cheap game mechanic.
I have seen some intresting ones but everyone I find thats been out awhile with a good amount of feedback and people playing it requires like atleast 4 flasks, vinktars, dying sun, wise oak, and some lucky or consecrated ground etc one. I cant manage 4 flasks while playing, when I have to grind the same t11-15 map 3 times for 1% exp im not going to micro manage, I want 1 skill to use and am willing to tap my middle mouse button for my movement flask, thats about the extent of my motivation. Kinda waiting for the announcement today at noon to see if theres going to be any drastic changes before I narrow down something to play. Ricos already made an templar version of this, was wondering if it would work on scion with maybe the juggernaut and champion nodes, or even juggernaut and raider for the frenzy charges but id have no accuracy and im sure theres other factors im missing. Just wanna try something a bit different but similar in what this build can do. Last edited by JCOH35#4078 on Feb 15, 2018, 5:16:05 AM

" True... the thing I hate the most is dying because of lag... I was surprised to see this build being able to overcome that... well sometimes if I get a spike of 2000ms or something I die but still... manageable. I did a corrupted map earlier t14 or t15, with like 11 mods, including debuffs like enfeeble, vulnerability, temporal chains, and more crazy shit...and it went like a breeze lol. I dont even have all the good jewels or item stats yet, and I'm still only playing with like 2 life flasks, using atziri promise + overflowing chalice, not sure if those are good but I've stuck with them since low lvl and since I don't use RF I figured what the hell... it works for me. Haven't killed shaper yet, need to grind phoenix now kinda scared from what I've read on the forums about it. I had a tornado+barrage ranger before this, and while I enjoyed pew-pewing and the speed of it, it was squishy as fck, but the mechanics were great, specially with mirrage-archer. Kinda want to try another ranged build but one that's tanky.. dunno yet we'll see with the patch notes I guess. |

I love this build and had been patiently upgrading my gear to a level where I feel quite happy with. I had been using
with 4.65aps which should give me 5 discharges per second. Recently I got this which gives me very good hp and dmg mitigation. If I keep other gears unchanged and use this new belt, my aps drops to 4.46 and cooldown recovery speed dropped to 15% instead of 20%. I don't know how big the impact is to my dps or discharge per second. I don't mind losing the +1 endurance charge, but I do want to have 4+ discharges per second. Could I get some advice on what the optimal aps is if I were to use this new rustic belt please. Also, I do not use Blood Magic for the 6th link and use Accuracy and Culling Strike instead. It seems to me mana is not a problem provided I don't do maps with no life and mana regen mode. Are there any drawback on not using Blood Magic which I am not aware of? Thanks for the adivce in advance. Last edited by Alfred2000#7648 on Feb 15, 2018, 6:54:48 AM
