FIXED FOR ME BY THESE STEPS:
I had same issue about Shader error and crash on game as running it into main screen. I tried many repair and reinstall and pack and etc, changing to dx9 or anything. what fixed it for me was i checked the client's properties and compatibility then i noticed the client is set to run as admin. first i deactivated the "run this program as an admin mode"( not sure if it was the issue but let's do it this way) then i Activated the option to "disable full screen optimizations" now i am in game, I still did not check if there is lag issue or stuff related to disconnecting but at least i am in game. I hope it helps. |

Game crashes everytime my Orb of Storms hits a big pack in maps (once every 5 min.)
Disabling multithreading fixes it but at a huge performance cost. intel core i7 2600k OC to 4.7 GHz amd radeon hd 7900 windows 10 64 bit 16 gb ram Toshiba ssd 252 gb i'm using Steam client to run the game. |

The game has been crashing for me for a long time now. Ever since I changed my GPU to Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 the crashing began and with each league it got worse and worse. This league, Blight was the worst. At the moment it either crashes by "Pathofexile64.exe" stopped working or by crashing my GPU.
It feels like a lot of the crashes were not fixed but actually renamed because with every patch or hotfix a new crash would appear but end result is the same which is you can't play this wonderfull game. I wish they are looking into these crashes and are on the verge of finding the cause. I'm also a bit shocked this thread has 41 pages (at the moment) but not a single comment from GGG. |

" have you tried adding "-gc 2" as a launch option? (i.e. starting PoE with "PathOfExile_x64Steam.exe -gc 2"). It has something to do with how the garbage collection works, not sure what it does in detail, but it has fixed my crashes (had the same error in the Windows event log) Last edited by CaramonGaming#2997 on Oct 10, 2019, 12:17:49 PM

Windows 10 updated a couple of days ago and since then the game has been crashing within 1-20 minutes of opening the game. From just being in the hideout or town to actually making it into a map but not quite finishing it.
4770K, 770 4G, 16G RAM, SSD Logs tell me: D3D11CreateDevice: Not enough memory resources are available to complete this operation. 2019/10/17 10:03:27 42354343 a0e [CRIT Client 1816] [EXCEPTION] D3D11CreateDevice: Not enough memory resources are available to complete this operation. 2019/10/17 10:03:28 42354562 c1 [CRIT Client 1816] [D3D11] Map: The GPU device instance has been suspended. Use GetDeviceRemovedReason to determine the appropriate action. (GetDeviceRemovedReason: The GPU will not respond to more commands, most likely because of an invalid command passed by the calling application. ) 2019/10/17 10:03:28 42354562 6db [WARN Client 1816] Failed to save minimap: Map: The GPU device instance has been suspended. Use GetDeviceRemovedReason to determine the appropriate action. (GetDeviceRemovedReason: The GPU will not respond to more commands, most likely because of an invalid command passed by the calling application. ) Edit: From what I've gathered from googling it's a driver issue or something. I don't know. Maybe my card is dying? Whatever. Last edited by knolly#0864 on Oct 17, 2019, 3:18:37 PM

Guys it's been said but I'll say it again.
Right click POE desktop icon Select "Properties" In "comparability" tab check "Disable Fullscreen Optimizations" This is going to solve a wide ranging host of issues not just with POE but with other games as well. Have you ever heard the phrase about "too many hands in the pot?" You've got NVIDIA or AMD settings telling your GPU what to do. You've also got POE settings telling your GPU what to do. And without changing some settings in Windows you've got windows telling your GPU what to do. It's no surprise that we experience issues, the only shocker is that we ever run smoothly. Another tip is to check your NVIDIA/AMD settings and make sure none are in direct conflict with POE settings. It's generally better to set 3d/physics settings to "allow the application" to decide. It is always, I repeat always, better to cede control to the application from a stability standpoint. Case in point; I recently built my wife what can only loosely be described as a PC. -Intel 8086k -EVGA Super RTX 2070 FTW Ultra -EVGA FTW Gaming Mobo -Corsair RGB Vengeance x32gb -Corsair h150 AIO Water Cooler -Several extra Corsair bearingless fans -EVGA 1000wa PSU -Corsair x570 Crystal Series Case The build was largely plug and play. Hook everything up, install windows, update drivers and away she went with a smile on her face. Then we bought a 55" 4ktv so naturally I oc'd everything and pushed that GPU to the max via the NVIDIA control panel. Nearly immediately she started having issues in any game that was fullscreen. The solution was/is to not allow windows to have any control whatsoever on gpu performance. There are ways to do this via group policy and registry but why mess with all that? Just right click your desktop icons and check the "disable fullscreen optimizations" box and there you go. Having an issue with text scaling improperly on 4k? Go to the same area and play around with "change high dpi" settings until it displays properly. These are not faults of GGG nor is NVIDIA or Windows to blame. The same settings that caused my wife crashes may in fact prevent a different hardware setup from crashing. Hopefully this has been helpful to someone. In summary, when you encounter in game issues, start on the assumption that Windows is doing something it shouldn't be doing and then work from there. |
